the "Classical Liberals" are correct when they say it's not about left vs right as much as individualism vs authoritarianism, imo

2017-01-11 16:17:02 UTC

Communism, as we knew it, provided superficially "unified" society, but not unified in sense of pursuit of higher collective heights

2017-01-11 16:17:25 UTC

But "unified" in a sense that everything was mashed up according to top-down directed materialistic-economic plans

2017-01-11 16:17:48 UTC

Once completely separated social stratas got mixed up in a one giant genetic and social melting pot

2017-01-11 16:18:10 UTC

Resulting into a drastic fall of our GENERAL (And i repeat, general, that means average) performance

2017-01-11 16:18:41 UTC

You had populations of shepherds being movet into great agrarian areas to become farmers

2017-01-11 16:18:53 UTC

You had farmers moed into cities to become burreaucrats

2017-01-11 16:19:02 UTC

You had burgeoisie completely annihilated

2017-01-11 16:19:32 UTC

You had different tribes and different social stratums intermixing in a way that was previously simply unimaginable because of established social curriculum and social norms

2017-01-11 16:20:33 UTC

Correct, and it may well be that it could not work - but I am not defending it, just saying that I would rather return to Yugoslavia than embrace Westernized libertarian ideals of an ego-based culture.

2017-01-11 16:20:50 UTC

Naturally a more traditionalistic/nationalistic variant would be my first choice.

2017-01-11 16:20:55 UTC

But theoretically speaking.

2017-01-11 16:21:48 UTC

So I am not speaking about socialism from a "free market" viewpoint, I'm speaking obviously against Bolshevik collectivization

2017-01-11 16:22:22 UTC

The reason why we never recovered from Bolshevism is that any base from which recovery could happen was either annihilated or intermixed with the "average"

2017-01-11 16:24:08 UTC

This world has changed.

2017-01-11 16:24:15 UTC

It has changed so fast..

2017-01-11 16:24:19 UTC

Interestingly enough, those parts of Yugoslavia that were in this social engineering virtually untouched (Because Bolsheviks didn't hate them as much as they hated us), Slovenia and Croatia, recovered more easily

2017-01-11 16:24:45 UTC

Even though Croatia recovered only slightly, which now seems to be slowly reverted

2017-01-11 16:24:58 UTC

To an extent. It is possible that recovery ends up being a curse rather than a blessing.

2017-01-11 16:25:11 UTC

I imagine Croatia will be halved in population soon.

2017-01-11 16:25:17 UTC

Not that we are fairing much better sadly.

2017-01-11 16:25:41 UTC

faring*

2017-01-11 16:26:39 UTC

But yes @Bloodborn the world is changing incredibly fast

2017-01-11 16:26:50 UTC

I mean Ideological wise @Slav

2017-01-11 16:27:12 UTC

Socalism was the ideology of factory workers and farmers snubbed by corperations and corny government.

2017-01-11 16:27:41 UTC

Now you look and it's an urban ideology where rich kids are taught to by richer professers.

2017-01-11 16:27:56 UTC

They protect their elitist masters from ridicule as well!

2017-01-11 16:28:08 UTC

Croatian emigration only recently started to be significant, without yet causing huge trouble

2017-01-11 16:28:14 UTC

Those people could return

2017-01-11 16:28:29 UTC

To be fair, that is a very different strain of socialism.

2017-01-11 16:28:30 UTC

Serbian emigration started in 1945 heavily and continued

2017-01-11 16:28:42 UTC

It comes from a different state of mind.

2017-01-11 16:29:05 UTC

I know, it's just such an odd thing to see.. There are no more socalists left in the US that were these old Factory workers and Farmers...

2017-01-11 16:29:28 UTC

Any Communist and Any Socalist generaly have either rich parents or are rich themselves.

2017-01-11 16:30:00 UTC

@The Enlightened Shepherd - I'm sure some people might return, but too many lose their identity. God knows how many Serbs there are in the world today that abandoned their heritage in the past 60 years.

2017-01-11 16:30:37 UTC

In a country of such abundance, wealthy spoiled brats are the only ones willing to buy communism.

2017-01-11 16:31:28 UTC

It's.. Fucking Ironic...

2017-01-11 16:32:17 UTC

Populist Nationalism... Miners, Farmers, Factory Workers...

2017-01-11 16:33:02 UTC

You would suspect communism might spread to those groups, but here in America they went to whichever side did not forget them.

2017-01-11 16:33:16 UTC

(Granted, Trump did say he wanted to turn the Republican party into a Worker's Party...)

2017-01-11 16:34:25 UTC

They don't really trust the Republican party from before, they were just a bunch of corperatists that litterally would love Illegals to replace American workers because they work for cheaper.
