Imagine if that were the case during the OJ trial.
The accusations that the police did outlandish planting would suddenly become VERY BELIEVABLE
You don't want that.
Bail itself is just strange.
As it stands I think people perceive bail as being a remedy for spurious charges. If the state was competent enough such that the overwhelming majority of those arrested would actually be convicted, I think bail would be abolished.
@Dr.Wol if that was the thought, that person is very naive. Given that rich people would have the money to leave the country in a hurry while poor people can mostly just walk and run. i.e. much easier to find a running poor person than a rich one.
Thats currently, cuz money is electronic
If you're deemed a flight risk they won't set bail.
A few hundred years ago that logic would have held. Not today of course.
bail only gets you out of waiting in jail for your court date.
I'm talking when bail was originally implemented
If you're rich in the 1700s it's because of your land and property.
and i don't believe you get it back
Today it's all in the banking system.
so its not like collateral to make sure you don't run
Okay so..
This alleged molester. He didn't even have his day in court yet.
so its basically paying with money instead of your time.
No but its like, you pay the bail to not sit in jail
But are a safer case you'll return to court, cuz you can't just run away cuz your gold coins are in the vault of the bank
If that girlfriend is lying, I want her dead next.
The state should not have been so incompetent as to grant bail. Then he would have remained safe in custody and have reached trial.
If she's not lying, I'm peachy.
exactly
he should never have been let go
well you won't know will you? because the dude is dead.
He's extremely dead. o:
Have you ever tried to a sew a head back on?
Same thing goes for the NM compound people. This exact same thing would've happened had the feds not stepped in.
You're SO dead after that.
Dracula levels of dead.
Dracula was undead tho <:TimThink:482277772497125378>
Until he became plain dead.
I don't remember the official death. They vary.
It's odd how many fatal weaknesses were known, despite only being able to kill him one way in the canon.
unless they have reason to question her story, we will never know if he was actually guilty or not.
instead it will be a focus on who killed him
if anyone cares at all
I'm sure people in the area do.
Like, if we care to talk about this, they sure as hell do too.
We're bumfuck strangers.
why? i'm sure most are like you "child molester dead? good."
