Guenon is intersting man, he is one of the following guys I'm about to read deeper
IT HELPS TO HAVE A BACKGROUND IN NIETZSCHE
BUT YES
INTERESTING
THE NEW RIGHT - TRADITIONALIST AXIS IS HIGHLY INTRIGUING AS WELL
He was a bright intellectual, very staunch non-dualist and sort of a criticist of "diversity" of tradition
POSSIBILITIES FOR A NON-MODERN CIVILIZATION
YES
TRADITION DOES NOT NEED DIVERSITY
But he quite lacked interest and skills in realpolitik
PERENNIALISTS ARE MISUNDERSTOOD
HE IS A PHILOSOPHER ONLY
AND REALLY, A RELIGIOUS ONE
I was puzzled by his conversion to Islam though
Well "Islam"
Sufism that is
He had debates with Evola on Hermeticism
and how there cannot be "many ways to tradition", but only one
How did he reach concluzion that Sufism is that one way, he never elaborated
Though he was so long in Initiatic organizations that he certainly knows things and has priorities that are probably obscure to me
HE WANTED
I THINK
TO CREATE A VIEW FROM OUTSIDE
WHICH AFFIRMED THE INTERNAL
AND LIKE NIETZSCHE WITH ZARATHUSTRA
SOUGHT A ROOT BEFORE THE CORRUPTION
THE SEARCH FOR THE PURE
IN ANOTHER FORM
COMPARE ALSO TO ANTON LONG
Evola was btw my first introduction in Nietzsche
Only after I read Nietsche himself I realized how much Evola "upgraded" on Nietzsches philosophy
A GOOD INTRODUCTION, BUT HELPS TO HAVE NIETZSCHE/PLATO/SCHOPENHAUER
YES
BUT MORE KANTIAN AS WELL
Evola was a great talent when it comes to cultural and folklore commentary
His book "Mystery of The Grail", while it can be criticized to be far too "ambitious" in it's conclusion, is nevertheless, extremely intriguing
^^ I like Schopenhauer, he does sound almost naive in comparison to Nietzsches thorough and agressive method of espistemological deconstruction of phenomenons
