@devpav not really, it's much more narrow, but they didn't flip sides completely. Unions still voted primarily Democrat. And it's only a couple unions that would flip in the near future. AFT is solidly Blue now more than ever.
UAW leadership has been praising Trump however. There could be a shift in the making. Republicans might have actually shot themselves in the foot passing Right to Work if it happens.
Everything is weird.
Manchin's unions (coal country) would be ones to flip.
likelihood of armed partisan mobs?
probably not
yet
We already have those in the streets of Berkley and Seattle.
i mean guns not what antfa uses
mobs? yes not yet. militant cells? sure.
Antifa carries guns in their stuff.
Concealed and likely illegal.
I'd say the coalminers unions would do anything for Trump nowadays.
Have they donated R yet?
That's the key point when it flips.
When they put money to the Republicans and are running ads in favor of the Republicans.
And getting absolutely excoriated in the press.
And all the free market progressives appear and suddenly don't like unions.
Their industry is already savagely excoriated by the press.
And the progressives decide they only like the "right" unions.
But you can get signal from negative press to an extent. And we haven't got that yet.
The more I read about historical Nazi propaganda, the more I get disturbed about today (for example, I never realized white guilt is basically "England's guilt").
This is interesting. I would like to know more.
Essentially, England's capitalist ways led it to exploit the rest of the world in the past and it should feel guilty about it
@Nine any links ?
The east india trade company
Didn't Hitler idolize the English though?
Hitler idolized the germans
right, but he wanted an alliance with the English and was deeply hurt they didn't want him.
He liked the fact that they'd built such a massive empire.
They didnt teach me dat in history class
And wanted to meet and exceed it with his own.
Interesting. It would make sense too.
Since England was firmly anti-Hitler around that point.
"England is a capitalist democracy. Germany is a socialist people’s state. And it is not the case that we think England is the richest land on earth. There are lords and City men in England who are in fact the richest men on earth. The broad masses, however, see little of this wealth. We see in England an army of millions of impoverished, socially enslaved, and oppressed people. Child labor is still a matter of course there. They have only heard about social welfare programs. Parliament occasionally discusses social legislation. Nowhere else is there such terrible and horrifying inequality as in the English slums. Those with good breeding take no notice of it. Should anyone speak of it in public, the press, which serves plutocratic democracy, quickly brands him the worst kind of rascal. They do not hesitate to make major changes in the Constitution if they are necessary to preserve capitalist democracy."
among other things
Wow.
Really gets to the "National *Socialism*" angle there.
"Capitalism democracy suffers from every possible modern social ailment. The lords and City people can remain the richest people one earth only because they constantly maintain their wealth by exploiting their colonies and preserving unbelievable poverty in their own country."
