Not dying is a simple goal?
Hmm...
Yes there are homeless people who die of exposure but that's usually due to substance abuse and not seeking shelter.
Oh, you mean to certain things
well my example is a bit random and oddly specific,
But the idea of "progress" as a society, would mean something that everyone benefits from,
You can't fix inequality, but you can progress society so that the bottom is still going great,
No one would be against helping the bottom up,
The issue is that people want to help the bottom up, by dragging the top down
And then its no longer progress for all
```I can afford antibiotics```
Yeah that's not gonna be a thing for much longer lol
well, you can still afford them, they just stop having use 😛
kind of like a woman outside the kitchen 😉
No I mean the escalation of prices due to insurance, like the >$100 gauze from the hospital etc
true, you americans need to get your medical bill issue together
I object to the idea that people are dropping like flies because they can't afford antibiotics.
well that wasn't my point either 😛
The real issue is people going into debt slavery because of medical bills
Well
Not exactly.
My point was that people in the 1700's would die from a splinter due to infection, and now that we can use anti-biotics we can stay alive with it (and cleaner homes) hence we've progressed to a safter society
Have you guys heard of Precision medecine?
There are ways to ameliorate the cost of medical services but the important thing to remember is that ***medical services have a cost that has to be borne by someone***.
There is no free.
The antibiotics we now have may just be the cure for the future
There is no free, but theres that issue of inflated prices due to cartel practices, monopoly / thrusts
and the American phrama industry is doing that big-time
We take out loans that will never be repaid to fund the military
I'm so tempted to take a pic of all my knives and tweet at them. what a bunch of cocks.
Recently, it was discovered that a pill previously used for tapeworms shrinks kidney cancer tumours.
We could be declaring a "war on disease" instead of a "war on terror"
welcome to medicine,
"We dont know why it works, but it works, so take two of these and call me in the morning"
I wrote an article about it
Disease will always exist.
Terrorism will always exist.
Yeah, but what do we get out of a war on terror? Not new medicines or life-extending regimens, just death.
Two wars without an endgame, one has positive knock-on effects one doesn't.
got drones out of it
Hooray, now the drones can smash my shit up when they deliver it
How about instead of taking a trillion dollars in taxes from citizens every year and spending it on a never-ending war, we let the taxpayers keep it.
but that would solve issues
and you cant campaign on solved issues
That's part of what was saying earlier about progressivism. It's perpetual revolution. There always has to be some new fight to justify the existence of the movement.
