For the Americans on this board: voter registration deadlines are close. Don't forget to register and vote in the midterms.

2018-10-01 09:45:02 UTC

don't let the Dems win! they'll destroy us all

2018-10-01 09:46:24 UTC

If you need help registering, just ask. It's not that hard and takes only a couple minutes. Same with voting. Also, try and vote early.

2018-10-01 09:47:33 UTC

You shouldn't need to reveal personal information to get pointed to the proper websites. All that would matter is the state you need to register in. Everything else should be filling out stuff on a website or a form on your own.

2018-10-01 09:54:38 UTC

I live in a college town that had a protest against kav, me voting is a waste

2018-10-01 09:56:19 UTC

@ryuplaneswalker Do the parties/candidates not receive some kind of funding depending on turnout?

2018-10-01 09:57:35 UTC

The gop don't need money they need some fucking spine

2018-10-01 09:58:06 UTC

@ryuplaneswalker no it's not. People do read the polling numbers and even a small dissent does get noticed. Just to the point, there's places that are more contested than you'd think and your votes do count towards statewide totals.

2018-10-01 09:58:55 UTC

I know for a fact there are several college towns that are actually marginally Republican despite very left-leaning student populations because the vote is bundled with right-leaning populations outside the immediate college town.

2018-10-01 09:59:06 UTC

Some of these are competitive this cycle.

2018-10-01 09:59:32 UTC

And sitting here complaining *without voting* is even more of a waste of time.

2018-10-01 09:59:54 UTC

Forget activism or anything, if you don't vote you're not doing even the most basic actions to advance your interests.

2018-10-01 10:00:21 UTC

Voting doesn't require you to out yourself or anything. And it only takes a couple minutes to register and actually vote.

2018-10-01 10:00:27 UTC

I've done it over dinner before.

2018-10-01 10:06:14 UTC

but that contains no analysis

2018-10-01 10:08:14 UTC

It has one line in which she summarizes her findings.

2018-10-01 10:08:47 UTC

It should be said, this is the report of the prosecutor the Republicans hired for the hearing last Thursday.

2018-10-01 10:09:17 UTC

all she says is there is no clear standard of proof, which is obvious.

2018-10-01 10:09:35 UTC

not exactly what i would call an analysis

2018-10-01 10:10:27 UTC

be like me giving you my analysis of water: it's wet.

2018-10-01 10:11:41 UTC

"A 'he said, she said' case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is weaker than that."

2018-10-01 10:12:10 UTC

Hippity hoppity there's no such thing as intellectual property.

2018-10-01 10:15:22 UTC

It’s obvious but it just reinforces it.

2018-10-01 10:16:54 UTC

idk, what's the difference between intellectual property and credit?
