So that's not a feasible solution unless there's a giant cultural shift

2018-10-06 14:09:57 UTC

"You know, mind control is such a hard thing to prove. We do not convict a lot of people for it. Let's just believe the accusers and invent a bunch of bullshit laws that prevent the defense from asking for mental records of the accuser."

2018-10-06 14:10:01 UTC

AWESOME!

2018-10-06 14:10:33 UTC

Read my lips:

I DO NOT FUCKING CARE HOW HARD IT IS TO PROVE.

2018-10-06 14:10:43 UTC

Calm down, I agree with you

2018-10-06 14:10:46 UTC

I know.

2018-10-06 14:10:51 UTC

I am not yelling AT you.

2018-10-06 14:11:04 UTC

I am more ... yelling at the collective human stupidity.

2018-10-06 14:11:08 UTC

I just want a feasible solution. Not prosecuting these cases isn't one of them.

2018-10-06 14:11:35 UTC

Maybe an entirely anonymous secret system of accusations and courts

2018-10-06 14:11:43 UTC

Yes, it IS a solutin.

2018-10-06 14:11:47 UTC

It is the only solution.

2018-10-06 14:11:55 UTC

No evidence? Fuck off then.

2018-10-06 14:12:07 UTC

Where the Jury and the judge only hears the statements and doesn't know who the accuser and the accused are

2018-10-06 14:12:20 UTC

The whole reason why we think that way is because we cannot hold women accountable.

2018-10-06 14:12:24 UTC

I think that might help

2018-10-06 14:12:45 UTC

If child abduction was a problem, we would investigate better, and not let our kids walk out at night.

2018-10-06 14:12:57 UTC

Lowering the standards of evidence would be the LAST thing we should do.

2018-10-06 14:13:06 UTC

Think of it this way. Imagine the kav case, except no one knew who either the accuser or the accused were

2018-10-06 14:13:22 UTC

The only thing put out would be the statements and evidence

2018-10-06 14:13:29 UTC

Is child abduction hard to prove if there is no evidence? Yes!
Would I be pissed if I thought I knew who abducted my child and couldn't prove it? Yes!

2018-10-06 14:13:37 UTC

The case would have been proven long ago

2018-10-06 14:14:07 UTC

But that is what our justice system is for: To go on evidence and follow due process, not to satisfy your thirst for revenge of who you perceive wronged you.

2018-10-06 14:15:01 UTC

Undead Mockingbird's rule for rape prosecution:

No fucking evidence? No fucking prosecution!

2018-10-06 14:21:38 UTC

Cases being behind closed doors has precedent, but it's very narrow. The 6th amendment guarantees a public trial.

Europe has very private court cases and it sorta works.

The reason for public trials is to insure transparency and avoid a China scenario.

2018-10-06 14:21:58 UTC

There are ways to run these trials and keep details sealed (in a way that's 6th amendment compliant).

2018-10-06 14:22:25 UTC

But I think that's not really the point for a lot of these people.

2018-10-06 14:22:29 UTC

Think cases done like 4chan

2018-10-06 14:23:02 UTC

And the only people who're allowed to know the accuser and the accused are the defendant and prosecutor

2018-10-06 14:23:06 UTC

That's not really practical.

2018-10-06 14:23:15 UTC

I haven't thought it out

2018-10-06 14:23:21 UTC

You would be able to peice together who the people are based on presented evidence.

2018-10-06 14:23:28 UTC

Like, if there's addresses for example.

2018-10-06 14:23:35 UTC

Or vehicles involved.

2018-10-06 14:23:39 UTC

With license plates.

2018-10-06 14:24:04 UTC

It would be extremely hard to censor enough to prevent court watchers from figuring out who's being talked about.

2018-10-06 14:24:04 UTC

There are ways to frame things without revealing enough info to find the people

2018-10-06 14:24:15 UTC

Not really.

2018-10-06 14:24:24 UTC

You can hide for a little while.

2018-10-06 14:24:43 UTC

But as evidence enters, it becomes dramatically harder with each new piece of evidence.

2018-10-06 14:25:14 UTC

It's really not hard to unmask someone if you've got the time, money and know-how.
