That's fair enough. I'm really trying to avoid bringing other testimonies into the matter, because the level of he-said she-said under-oath gets absolutely ridiculous. My general point is that this does NOT mean we 'wouldn't believe them'. It means we function under Blackstone's Formulation.
Here's principle laid out in full: Presume that Ford is telling the truth, and not even mistaken on who perpetrated an attack against her. Presume it WAS Kavanaugh. In such a case, Kavanaugh should face the full penalty of the law, if possible, and at LEAST be denied a seat on the supreme court.
Presume that Ford is lying. In such a case, Ford should be punished to the full extent of the law, because in such a case, Kavanaugh would, in fact, be the victim in the scenario.
When you say we should listen to accusers, I agree. When you say we should listen to victims, I agree. Where I disagree is in determining who the victim is without any evidence. Right now, it's come down to an unrelated Yearbook to try to catch Kavanaugh on Perjury, and Ford's witnesses, including her friend at the time, don't remember anything close to what she was supposed to have attended.
We have no real proof to go off of either way. If you're more interested in punishment for those who are potentially guilty, damned be the innocent, that's a lynch mob mentality and I won't have anything of it. I would rather live in a society that prefers not to see the innocent punished.```
