The alarmism does discredit it, yes.
But that movie wasn't about climate change @Exiled Sentinel
it was about photons heating the earth's core and shit
the climate change one was The Day after Tomorrow
get your emmerich right
jesus
And that the world is ending now
Stop using 'climate change' when the theory rests upon AGW.
Right. I thought it was that one @King Canuck
The day after tomorrow was weird tho...
TDAT stands as one of my favourite movies
I love cheesy disaster flicks
nobody is denying climate is changing.
its human cause part that debate is over.
TDAT, 2012, Pacific Rim, some of my favourite non-hero flicks right there
Pacific Rim is MUCH better than those other two imo
I agree
Pacific rim, you mean that movie that promotes killing oneself to kill aliens?
but I love watching cities get flattened by disasters
love that disaster porn
how antisemetic of you
and nice human survival stories
good shit 👌
also Independence Day
@Timcast you must admit that climate change could be an excellent excuse for authoritarian policies of all kinds. In theory it could justify almost any action if spun properly.
If it could we'd be there already, I think.
It's a pain in the ass to get countries to listen about it.
Everything can be an excuse by an authoritarian policy
couldn't anything be spun for authoritarian policies ?
i like the term watermelon for ppl who use green rhetoric to push red (socialist) policies
@Der Kommissar true that.
Environmentalism has always appealled to collectivists of all sorts because it's founded on the tragedy of the commons.
Never let a disaster go to wast @Cygnus
🍉
In addition to the hyperbole about man-made climate change, there's also the hypocritical and regressive advocacy of de-industrialization. Celebrities who consume 50x more than the average person telling people to revert to pre-industrial modes of living.
@Exiled Sentinel yup.
i too like the term watermelon, but i use it to refer to an entirely different selection of people
Like all 8 billion of us can live in yurts and farm organic tomatoes for sustenance.
