Selling my old plate carrier since I got a new one
I should probably get something that isn't a Condor but I keep putting it off
What's wrong with condor lol
Nothing to my knowledge, been good to me. I just know the intent for it was airsoft and I don't know how it'd hold up in a rough environment with frequent use
Looking to get a strandhogg when I can put away the funds for it
@LickMiNoodle if you want a nicer plate carrier on a budget for the money the AR500 brand and spartan brand plate carriers are solidly built with good padding
I'm gonna look at 'em, thanks buddy @TacticalBeard
AR500 has a couple huge sales during the year. I believe one is the 4th of July.
If i am still employed I'll take it.
I got mine during one of the sales for like 240 with plates.
Damn, that's a good deal...any recommendations for head protection?
I'd have to ask my friend where he got his. You aren't gonna get rifle rated head wear, so pretty much it's a place to mount comms abs NVG if you got em. Otherwise, wear a cool boog related hat.
Well i CAN get shrapnel protection.
The carrier I got wasn't bottom tier either, it's the testudo model and I got all the anti spall upgrades on the level III+ plates.
Or large handgun protection
Oo
I'm waiting on payday to hit the gun shop and hopefully finish my AR
Nice.
Get a decent barrel, and be careful on the weight, that's pretty much the biggest source of pounds.
What length you going?
I got 7.5"
Mine is a pistol/carbine
Yeah. You can also do 14.5"with a pinned and welded muzzle device to get a shorter barrel without paying the feds to SBR.
I'll just go compliant....i need to prep fast shit feels like it's about to hit the fan
Unless it's specifically for a DMR role, not a main battle rifle, then I would never go over 16"
Like I said tho, you can be compliant with a pinned and welded flash hider or brake.
Yea, that requires more money than i have....i have a welder but it's out of juice..well....metal to melt with the fuel
You get the idea
I've heard they are great
This will bring a 13.7" barrel up to legal length when pinned and welded.
Which should be done by a gun smith for record.
Which would be nice if i could find one.
True
Pinning and welding isn't too hard to do. Worst part is welding, but doesn't have to be a big weld.
Saaaaaale
ooooo
