Now my personal belief in abortion is this.

2020-03-05 13:37:41 UTC

I will let women decide if it should be legal or not.

2020-03-05 13:38:12 UTC

But if they can kill a kid, I should be able to leave it without giving them money all the time.

2020-03-05 13:39:08 UTC

> Pro-Life is suddenly a feminist position.

2020-03-05 13:39:14 UTC

I'm all for parity, but I actually don't think "my body, my choice" carries once someone has gotten pregnant. Guys need affirmative rights in the situation as well as negative. Getting the right to opt out would be a good start, though.

2020-03-05 13:39:39 UTC

Well I think that is a tricky one.

2020-03-05 13:39:46 UTC

Obviously, rape and the like need to be taken into account as well, of course.

2020-03-05 13:40:03 UTC

(and yes, I posess a uterus and the ability to get pregnant)

2020-03-05 13:40:23 UTC

I don't think you should be able to force a woman to go through the pains of pregnancy if we want to allow the choice.

2020-03-05 13:40:30 UTC

Once this subject and my position on it come up, that usually becomes relevant in someone's mind.

2020-03-05 13:40:42 UTC

I would just say

2020-03-05 13:41:02 UTC

I actually think there are some situations in which the fact that the woman had procreative sex was when she consented.

2020-03-05 13:41:08 UTC

Note, "some".

2020-03-05 13:41:09 UTC

A topic of this nature can't block out half of society.

2020-03-05 13:41:44 UTC

Because if you do so, you create radical abortion clinic bombers.

2020-03-05 13:41:57 UTC

Because they think abortion is murder.

2020-03-05 13:42:13 UTC

Now, similar to the guy, I think she should have the option to walk away, but the thorny issues have to do with the fact that there are actually three people involved in the situation, and they all have different interests depending on the specifics.

2020-03-05 13:42:55 UTC

Do you want to know the ultimate progressive talking point?

2020-03-05 13:43:00 UTC

And right now it's basically two that are being discussed, and generally in an "all or nothing" kind of way.

2020-03-05 13:43:02 UTC

Sure.

2020-03-05 13:43:18 UTC

Aborted Babies are the most oppressed minority.

2020-03-05 13:43:45 UTC

Killed before they could even start oppressing anyone/

2020-03-05 13:43:46 UTC

?

2020-03-05 13:44:17 UTC

Aborted before they could vote Democrat.

2020-03-05 13:44:32 UTC

Arguably, you could go even further and say it is contracepted babies that do them one better.

2020-03-05 13:44:54 UTC

Congratulations, Progressives! You have made contraception immoral! ;-J

2020-03-05 13:45:44 UTC

Progressivism

2020-03-05 13:46:17 UTC

The only ideology where it will be replaced with a completely different one.

2020-03-05 13:46:21 UTC

The slippery slope, personified.

2020-03-05 13:47:04 UTC

Because the end point of Progressivism is when it is converted to far right national socialist Islam.

2020-03-05 13:48:20 UTC

Because they lack the argument needed to deal with a true fundamentalist religion.

2020-03-05 13:48:29 UTC

Political horseshoe double reacharound.

2020-03-05 13:49:06 UTC

Well it's more to do with how Progressivism is structured.

2020-03-05 13:49:31 UTC

It isn't really a set of beliefs but deconstruction of beliefs.

2020-03-05 13:50:39 UTC

But what happens when the belief is held by a culture that is infamous for oppressing those who won't submit and pay tribute to it like it's the middle ages?

2020-03-05 13:52:24 UTC

That oppresive culture usually murders the deconstructionists.

2020-03-05 13:52:46 UTC

progressivism is really just about hating white people and "whiteness" and everything that stems from that. thus. every thing must be deconstructed in countries founded by europeans

2020-03-05 13:53:04 UTC

Which is an end point of progressives, but that's not really an ideological endpoint as the term is usually used.

2020-03-05 13:53:42 UTC

Well I meant that as how Progressivism dies.

2020-03-05 13:54:00 UTC

We will see that in the UK in the coming decades.

2020-03-05 13:54:56 UTC

Oh, that reminds me. I made a bumper sticker I think people here would like, but I don't know if it's okay to post a link to it.
