2 things can be true at the same time, get off the Trump cock.
1) China/CCP fucked it up beyond imagination. Their censorship, culture, and authoritarianism turn a 'nothing burger' into a shit show on the world stage.
2) The US/Trump could have handled it much better. Handled it in the same fashion as SG, HK, Taiwan, SK, Holland, etc. What could have been a disaster for us could easily have been mitigated and reduce the severity of the crisis. Instead, based on this admin's actions and inactions, we're about to head into the same trajectory as China + Italy. Instead of learning from China on what NOT to do, we used them as an instructional manual.
While I applauded his early actions on travel bans w/China and wanted him to do more. His 180 into telling the public that this is just the flu when it is clearly not to dragging his feet w/his response team is what is undoing all his prior containment efforts.
I'd say, looking at the rate proportional to population, we've done better than Europe. Considering our rates of international travel that's good.
We're doing much better because we haven't been testing anywhere near the rate the rest of the world has
