Of course, that's how we did it in our big cities

2020-04-02 13:54:41 UTC

There are still many dirty public bathrooms, but those tend to not be paid for by the visitors themselves

2020-04-02 13:56:07 UTC

so the point is not 'capitalism' (wtf does that even mean here) , its spending more money on cleaning

2020-04-02 13:56:17 UTC

No, the point is indeed capitalism

2020-04-02 13:57:13 UTC

if they spent more money on more regual cleaning then they would be cleaner, wether that money comes from the users or the tax payers as a whole does not matter

2020-04-02 13:57:26 UTC

Public bathrooms can be funded by taxpayer money or by the users directly. If it's funded by taxpayer money then they have no incentive to keep them particularly clean and functional. But if they work like any other private enterprise then they have every incentive to maintain them.

2020-04-02 13:59:59 UTC

```If it's funded by taxpayer money then they have no incentive to keep them particularly clean and functional.``` but they do if the pay for them at point of use because? I guess I dont think like the average person here, but you always pay for public toilets, just not directly if they are 'free' , keeping clean is not difficult, it just requires more than two brain cells.
2020-04-02 14:01:58 UTC
It's about incentive. Tax payer money removes the incentive to maintain a high standard
2020-04-02 14:01:58 UTC
I am of the opinion that paid at use toilets are cleaner because they get more cleaning, not because the users are more carefull of using them because they 'invested' in it or something
2020-04-02 14:02:31 UTC
I hope you're aware that you're arguing from the socialist perspective?
2020-04-02 14:02:37 UTC
And?
2020-04-02 14:02:42 UTC
Social always fails
2020-04-02 14:02:46 UTC
if the average toilet user is too stupid to think about public free toilets, then they're too stupid to think about 'investment perspective'
2020-04-02 14:02:49 UTC
Lmao.
2020-04-02 14:03:11 UTC
Socialism always fails => socialist perspective always bad.
2020-04-02 14:03:17 UTC
That's retarded.
2020-04-02 14:03:31 UTC
Public bathrooms are no different than any other enterprise. There's no reason why they don't succeed and fail for the same reasons as all others.
2020-04-02 14:03:35 UTC
Rethink your statement.
2020-04-02 14:03:56 UTC
I have thought about it, I'm a staunch proponent of capitalism.
2020-04-02 14:04:05 UTC
but they do succeed, **well maintained** free public bathrooms are hugely succesfull,
2020-04-02 14:04:22 UTC
and so am I, that does not mean I see value in free public bathrooms
2020-04-02 14:04:30 UTC
Every example that I've seen so far of public bathrooms contradicts what you're saying
2020-04-02 14:04:54 UTC
Maybe it's just that you live in and visit only shitholes.
2020-04-02 14:05:20 UTC
The tax funded ones tend to be really bad on average, and the moment they get paid for directly by the customers like any other service, they immediately become clean and functional.
2020-04-02 14:05:22 UTC
A country that doesn't want shit and piss on the streets funds public toilets and makes them nice.
2020-04-02 14:05:50 UTC
I'm talking about my own country. We used to have exclusively tax funded bathrooms.
2020-04-02 14:05:59 UTC
They got cleaned up only when they became private enterprise.
2020-04-02 14:06:21 UTC
They used to stink so bad you wouldn't believe. I didn't even want to enter them.
2020-04-02 14:07:15 UTC
That just proves austrians are shit at managing public bathrooms.
2020-04-02 14:07:24 UTC
We do the same thing with our public transport. It keeps getting better and better because we pay for the service with our own wallets, not exclusively with tax money.
2020-04-02 14:07:41 UTC
We have one of the best public transport systems in the whole world.
2020-04-02 14:09:54 UTC
Part ironically but actually quite seriously I like to quote the Joker from Nolan's TDK series: if you're good at something, never do it for free.
2020-04-02 14:10:21 UTC
The opposite is also very often true. If something's free, you may want to decline. It's fishy.
2020-04-02 14:59:15 UTC
I know I'm the only one who can read this but GODDAMN
Anders Tegnell, Sweden's CHIEF EPIDEMIOLOGIST was doing the "it's just a flu bro"
https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/mRdvO0/viruset-mindre-farligt-an-sars-och-mers
2020-04-02 15:00:39 UTC
Makes our case numbers unsurprising. Keep in mind that Sweden is a nation of 10 million people where only patients in intensive hospital care are tested for COVID-19.
2020-04-02 15:01:17 UTC
the sweeds are retards would not expect any less
2020-04-02 15:03:27 UTC
The Swedish medical and scientific community were saying this shit's serious, but the guy IN CHARGE of the pandemic response was "it's just a flu bro"-ing
2020-04-02 15:04:29 UTC
Same retard who has the plan of herd immunity, but refuses to use the term because it sounds bad.
2020-04-02 15:05:29 UTC
just pack up and leave when you can Sweden is one of the most cucked country's on earth
2020-04-02 15:05:33 UTC
and filled with morons
2020-04-02 15:22:48 UTC
```Det nya virus som sprids i Kina tycks vara mindre farligt än både sars och mers. Det säger statsepidemiologen Anders Tegnell. Detta trots att det nya viruset redan hunnit ta livet av 26 personer.``` The new virus (som?) spread in China (tycks?) is far less dangerous än=than? both SARS or MERS. That says state-epidimiologist Anders Tegnell. this (trots att?) the new virus (redan hunnit= taken?) the lives of 26 people. @Swedishmafia101
