it's just the markets working with me to overthrow you

2020-03-06 12:54:43 UTC

they shall

2020-03-06 12:54:46 UTC

NOT BE INFRINGED

2020-03-06 12:54:58 UTC

🟨

2020-03-06 12:55:12 UTC

The result of another company going out of business if my own company succeeds is only a consequence, it's not a cause-and-effect chain. I do not make other companies go out of business by being successful myself.

2020-03-06 12:55:21 UTC

also nah I'm not that libertarian laissez-faire really

2020-03-06 12:55:29 UTC

just thought saying that would be funny

2020-03-06 12:55:56 UTC

Operating in the free market contains competition, there's always competition. So of course people go out of business all the time.

2020-03-06 12:56:21 UTC

cool so if i keep becoming larger and larger it should be fine

2020-03-06 12:56:26 UTC

as long as i don't use force

2020-03-06 12:56:33 UTC

to thwart my competition

2020-03-06 12:56:34 UTC

As long as you don't use any sort of force or threat thereof.

2020-03-06 12:56:40 UTC

and become a monopoly

2020-03-06 12:56:54 UTC

its still fine

2020-03-06 12:56:58 UTC

as long as i dont use force

2020-03-06 12:57:12 UTC

You keep saying "it's fine". But that's not my argument. My argument is that that's how capitalism works.

2020-03-06 12:57:36 UTC

I'm only saying how it works, not whether it's all good and fine.

2020-03-06 12:58:35 UTC

cool

2020-03-06 12:59:07 UTC

if theres no regulation and no force, monopolies can exist and it'd be fine

2020-03-06 12:59:37 UTC

Monopolies exist either way. In fact in a socialist setting there are much greater monopolies, while at the same time people being worse off overall.

2020-03-06 13:00:24 UTC

capitalist mode of production doesn't exist in a socialist society

2020-03-06 13:00:27 UTC

there's no surplus

2020-03-06 13:00:42 UTC

That's a fancy way of saying socialism creates starvation.

2020-03-06 13:01:11 UTC

socialist societies ideally form after the success of capitalist societies, with the capital and technological advancement achieved it moves towards a more co-operative societies

2020-03-06 13:01:25 UTC

thats just the theory

2020-03-06 13:01:27 UTC

Socialist societies ideally don't form at all. They destroy the market.

2020-03-06 13:01:50 UTC

markets exist regardless

2020-03-06 13:01:57 UTC

have been for thousands of years

2020-03-06 13:02:12 UTC

Yeah sure. But in one version you complain about monopolies, in the other version you complain about starvation. I know which I prefer.

2020-03-06 13:02:40 UTC

im not complaining. Im just saying free markets don't exist.

2020-03-06 13:02:52 UTC

100% free anything doesn't exist

2020-03-06 13:03:05 UTC

There are markets that are less regulated than others, for example that of the US

2020-03-06 13:04:04 UTC

And for some reason the US is one of if not the greatest economic power in the world

2020-03-06 13:04:29 UTC

Monopolies and all

2020-03-06 13:05:46 UTC

Markets are more freerer in Europe than in the states

2020-03-06 13:06:18 UTC

take broadband for instance

2020-03-06 13:06:19 UTC

Fuck the free market

2020-03-06 13:06:20 UTC

oh that guy that died from covid in the UK wasnt too far from me :/

2020-03-06 13:06:22 UTC
