might have to have something else for breakfast
just use it in drinks
Well, I'm not too sure what's happening, as I stopped listening to the news
You guys don't have canned milk
Imagine not having introduced a law to prevent price gouging in times of crisis.
price gouging makes sense, and it takes 2 brain cells to make sure you are never a victim of it
Someone raised the price of something eightfold, bam, fines.
"oh shit, a highly infectious virus is slowly breaking its way out of the original country, maybe i should grab that extra bad of rice"
*bag
> it takes 2 brain cells to make sure you are never a victim of it
how can braincells prevent retailers from increasing prices on essentials?
or do I just NOT buy hand sanitiser?
i dont see a problem with them raising the price of something to suit demand, you're just telling them to run their business improperly.
no, I'm telling them to quit being fucking jews about it, is all
you're telling them to run a business, in a manor that is inefficient
yes, people will have to pay more, but thats because the whole country didnt think and suddenly needs everything nonperishable all at once
if not screwing your customers is inefficient, then I am OK with inefficiency
if it were screwing them on price that badly, they wouldnt pay it, there are several other stores that they could go to that arent raising prices out of desire for moral virtue.
usually the smaller ones
lol
of course the large chains will, it makes literally 0 sense not to and i dont see a problem with it
I haven't made my mind up about price gouging yet either
It’s either taking advantage of worried people or a legit buisness practice
Is there a different rule for essential goods?
I'd consider a price gouging law on essential goods but nothing else
both, cassia
there exists price gouging laws in america
probably here too
but we don't have an official state of emergency
i have to venture out for supplies at some point, might try and get up early tomorrow
Even price gouging laws can be detramental to the market, like what if they need to increase the price just to keep supply moving
Tesco fucked me up with their undisclosed opening time change
is it for the elderly?
No, it's for Tesco
oh
what did they do?
Close early to restock shelves
But in doing so removes 2 nicely quiet hours where vulnerable people can go shopping
eh, in times like these it might make sense for them to do restocking when no one is in there
i imagine people would yeet pallets of shit that is in high demand
doesn't help me much
