ill give you a clue, its one of these three things
Something/Something/Neoliberalism

2020-03-19 11:50:45 UTC

i don't imagine in these events the fianncing companies ar egoing to foreclosing

2020-03-19 11:50:55 UTC

it would be ... cos if you had to save up for a sofa... more people would have savings

2020-03-19 11:50:57 UTC

yes, ff, but that's not terribly helpful

2020-03-19 11:51:05 UTC

instead ... everyone has more monthly outgoings

2020-03-19 11:51:05 UTC

true

2020-03-19 11:51:06 UTC

i get that

2020-03-19 11:51:31 UTC

the more pertinent question is "how to we roll back these maladaptions to society"?

2020-03-19 11:51:35 UTC

and

2020-03-19 11:51:47 UTC

as i've been saying for ages, we need to make it so that households can comfortably live off ONE wage

2020-03-19 11:51:52 UTC

which means pushing up wages, and the cost of living DOWN

2020-03-19 11:53:29 UTC

yeah which starts by nationalising rails, energy and mail as they are natural monopolies. Then you undo the privatisation of the NHS and cut the bureaucracy within it. You create social projects that bring communities together so there's more opportunities available for people to contribute to local economies.

2020-03-19 11:53:31 UTC

just looking at the ftse live... theres a loooot of money moving about right now

2020-03-19 11:53:42 UTC

its moving up and down 20pts at a time

2020-03-19 11:54:01 UTC

Things are only going to get worse in the next few days

2020-03-19 11:54:03 UTC

nationalisation - case by case basis. i won't agree on principle

2020-03-19 11:54:13 UTC

natural monopolies should be nationalised

2020-03-19 11:54:14 UTC

social projects - no, government should fuck off and not be involved in that

2020-03-19 11:54:28 UTC

how about this:

2020-03-19 11:54:49 UTC

things like the last steel producer should be government owned, we shouldn't let things like steel leave the land

2020-03-19 11:55:00 UTC

nhs, this is an argument on what is most effective

2020-03-19 11:55:07 UTC

rails sure

2020-03-19 11:55:11 UTC

scrap VAT on heating and fuel, significantly reduce duty on fuel and alcohol - it should max out at the cost of the externalities of vice being taxed
end mass immigration

2020-03-19 11:55:25 UTC

royal mail should never have been privatised

2020-03-19 11:55:42 UTC

ban future corporate ownership of residential property, limit residential property ownership to 1 per person, and to co-operatives and non-rpfits

2020-03-19 11:55:57 UTC

royal mail is utterly irrelevent to the cost of living

2020-03-19 11:56:10 UTC

yes, but in principle

2020-03-19 11:56:13 UTC

agree about "what is most effective"

2020-03-19 11:56:26 UTC

royal mail had to be privatised as per EU's EC directive 97/67

2020-03-19 11:56:33 UTC

we kno

2020-03-19 11:57:01 UTC

Mail has to be nationalised because it takes investment to reach rural areas which private companies won't do

2020-03-19 11:57:47 UTC

that's purely a fucking stupid argument

2020-03-19 11:58:19 UTC

Doesnt that rule work with any business that has to provide in rural areas?

2020-03-19 12:00:47 UTC

How so wladfa

2020-03-19 12:01:01 UTC

has the privatisation of RM worked well so far?

2020-03-19 12:01:04 UTC

For me to support nationalising things like RailTrack, and the National Grid, i'd need to see evidence that doing so would make it better

2020-03-19 12:01:21 UTC

how good are train services and train fares Eccles?

2020-03-19 12:01:32 UTC

No idea, FF, no railways around here

2020-03-19 12:01:38 UTC

I resent subsidising it though

2020-03-19 12:02:17 UTC

What would you rather have done for the rails

2020-03-19 12:02:41 UTC

your arugment being stupid isn't the same as me thinking it shouldn't be privatised you moron
