Yeah the lung damage sounds bad. What's ironic is that the mortality stats show old people getting killed by this, but there's a chance it actually takes more years off the life of younger people.
Yeah, respiratory issues kill a lot of old people as is even without something as specific as coronavirus.
Of course permanent damage is probably only an issue in the more severely affected.
