@snake originally the idea of Federating New Zealand and Australia, now the EU apparently

2020-03-03 00:42:52 UTC

it can enforce it's laws on other countries?

2020-03-03 00:43:49 UTC

What, no it can't

2020-03-03 00:43:56 UTC

Australia and New Zealand should become one country. It’s the same ethnos, people from the British isles, same religion, Protestant. So religion and genetics are the same, and geographically they’re right next to each other, same climate etc.

2020-03-03 00:43:56 UTC

@snake the original point was making nz australia not a federation.

2020-03-03 00:44:13 UTC

NZ should be annexed by Australia though.

2020-03-03 00:44:24 UTC

The EU has no actual power in the truest sense of the word over its member countries, it can only negotiate with them.

2020-03-03 00:45:03 UTC

It has very minimal power, but nothing of substance, nothing that can't be ended anytime for any reason.

2020-03-03 00:45:39 UTC

Yeah it does? it hands out fines to party states (states being countries) it also puts sanctions on states. It's enforced through fines

2020-03-03 00:46:05 UTC

Fines are not displays of power. A company can also fine people.

2020-03-03 00:46:35 UTC

If you have a contract, you can fine someone.

2020-03-03 00:47:12 UTC

The state exists purely to advance the nations interests. New Zealand and Australia are the same nation, why should there be two separate independent governments, that could possibly fight each other, doing that job?

2020-03-03 00:47:25 UTC

^

2020-03-03 00:47:28 UTC

if that was the case then why does any country not pay the fines??

2020-03-03 00:47:45 UTC

Because they have their part of the contract to uphold.

2020-03-03 00:48:01 UTC

It's a process of *negotiation*

2020-03-03 00:48:33 UTC

so just like american states?

2020-03-03 00:48:48 UTC

“Uh so if one goes down the shitter the other one is fine!” Retarded argument, they’re both very subverted, and you don’t give up your country men, have loyalty, and if one goes down so does the other. I mean I’m just guessing at a counter argument here

2020-03-03 00:48:55 UTC

No EU member state can be held at gunpoint by the EU. Unlike the states in the US, to which the president can absolutely send military if he sees fit and has the senate behind him afaik.

2020-03-03 00:49:36 UTC

Austria should be annexed by Germany, Ukraine and Belarus should be annexed by Russia.

2020-03-03 00:49:49 UTC

I have a better idea, your anus should be annexed by a scorpion

2020-03-03 00:50:18 UTC

Coming out with the 5th grade insults?

2020-03-03 00:50:34 UTC

Well that's what happens when you present stupid ideas 🤷‍♀️

2020-03-03 00:50:44 UTC

My ideas are brilliant

2020-03-03 00:51:07 UTC

They're barely 1st grade, now go bring the trash out kiddo

2020-03-03 00:51:22 UTC

an army is old school way of doing things. sanction's are the modern way.

2020-03-03 00:51:30 UTC

Not an argument.

2020-03-03 00:51:39 UTC

it's war by a different means

2020-03-03 00:51:48 UTC

Sanctions are pussy shit, they do nothing if a country simply leans back and doesn't care.

2020-03-03 00:52:58 UTC

tell china that? tell Venezuela that. tell cuba that tell every country that the usa has done that to that. see where they're know compared to where they could of been or where they were before that

2020-03-03 00:53:14 UTC

the cold war was sanctions on the ussr

2020-03-03 00:53:22 UTC

China is actually proof that sanctions only have an effect on countries that care

2020-03-03 00:53:45 UTC

right now we are in a cold war with china

2020-03-03 00:53:53 UTC

Yeah and the US is not gonna win that war

2020-03-03 00:54:49 UTC

but they are. because the majority of people that buy Chinese products are american. the majority of countries that have production lines in china are americans

2020-03-03 00:54:59 UTC

But that misses the main point. The EU has no actual power, it can only negotiate. If a negotiation fails, the EU can do nothing.
What really fails the EU countries is - guess what - the leadership of those individual countries. Not the EU.

2020-03-03 00:55:28 UTC

their power is the other states that are in it. which is why they want an army

2020-03-03 00:55:40 UTC

The EU won't have an army, the people won't allow that.

2020-03-03 00:55:54 UTC

the heavy hitters do
