@wacka L98A2 Cadet?

2018-10-28 23:40:02 UTC

the one I used was teh L98A1

2018-10-28 23:40:11 UTC

Why would anyone want a L98?

2018-10-28 23:40:13 UTC

(not much difference)

2018-10-28 23:40:26 UTC

its basically the SA80

2018-10-28 23:40:34 UTC

which the british army uses

2018-10-28 23:42:05 UTC

@wacka I'm disappointed that there has been so much stupidity, graft, and politics in small arms purchases

2018-10-28 23:42:24 UTC

@wacka We'd all be shooting FAL derivatives today, and loving it.

2018-10-28 23:43:22 UTC

Or, you know, maybe the brits would've gotten ARs

2018-10-28 23:43:30 UTC

I dont minf the fact that its extremely difficult to get guns in the UK

2018-10-28 23:43:50 UTC

and... like I said.. you can buy AR-15s in the UK... I even provided an online link above πŸ˜›

2018-10-28 23:44:03 UTC

I mean the L85 etc. were a dumb choice for military in Britain

2018-10-28 23:44:09 UTC

not talking about private ownership

2018-10-28 23:44:24 UTC

ah I see

2018-10-28 23:44:39 UTC

AR was a waste for the U.S. when they did it too, in my opinion

2018-10-28 23:44:40 UTC

well... in the mil Id take SA80 over Ar-15

2018-10-28 23:45:15 UTC

you'd take one over any AR-pattern rifle, even one intended for military use?

2018-10-28 23:45:20 UTC

@King Canuck did u watch the stream ?

2018-10-28 23:45:32 UTC

sure... briti is best! πŸ˜›

2018-10-28 23:45:43 UTC

@wacka what benefit does the SA80 have over an AR-pattern rifle?

2018-10-28 23:45:51 UTC

overall length is not that different from an M4

2018-10-28 23:46:02 UTC

its probably why the UK arms companies sell Β£17bn worth to the US

2018-10-28 23:46:04 UTC

ergonomics are considerably worse

2018-10-28 23:46:18 UTC

they don't sell 17bn quid in SA80s to the US

2018-10-28 23:46:31 UTC

17bn weapons in general

2018-10-28 23:46:58 UTC

By the time they were designing these things, all of the patents applicable to the AR pattern were expired

2018-10-28 23:47:02 UTC

ditto FAL

2018-10-28 23:47:30 UTC

(which they were already using)

2018-10-28 23:48:38 UTC

and the Steyr AUG

2018-10-28 23:49:02 UTC

Merkel did not really win... last election was the worst result for her party since 1949 (which, obviously, was the very first election) and the only reason she did not lose more votes is that the leaders of the parties people voted for instead are... let’s just say they not good with their public image...

2018-10-28 23:49:46 UTC

why was that the first election πŸ˜› was hindenburg not elected?

2018-10-28 23:49:55 UTC

She did stay in power though... so... she did not lose hard enough.

2018-10-28 23:50:48 UTC

@wacka they also pussied out on the EM-2

2018-10-28 23:51:34 UTC

Because the country did not exist before that... and something else...

2018-10-28 23:54:52 UTC

so hindenburg was not chancellor of germany before hitler?

2018-10-28 23:56:52 UTC

Thats semantics @wacka , like whats the number of current french republic.

He was president of the Weimarer Republic, the current Germany was founded in 1949. Since the initial statement was about elections that is kinda important (different democratic... or undemocratic... systems)

2018-10-29 00:04:07 UTC

In another context it would be semantics, yes.
