But it appears to me, that there is a trend, at least among the people I've met, that they have certain key markers for personality disorders, and even symptoms of abuse (CSA, etc) which are comorbid almost at a 1:1 ratio with being far left leaning.

I will have a sinking suspicion someone has serious issues related to abuse and a stunted emotional intelligence, and BOOM they're far left, one after another.

My initial instinct is to say something snide and unkind. Instead, I'll just say that yes, I could see how traumatic experiences and lack of some necessary mental developments might nudge someone to a position farther to the left.

But that I go, "Oh boy there's a bundle of loony and child abuse." and then it's a DSA member or that type.

Well, the left is the vocal advocate against abuse and whatnot - and people focus on the personal, in terms of formulating values - for the most part - so they probably feel it aligns better with them

Now, there are markers that are far RIGHT as well; ways of speaking, especially an inability to derive context in terms of acceptable speech

RE stunted emotional intelligence - maybe a broad stroke, but I don't think it's untrue of those who attack any other viewpoint and cannot empathize

But yeah, again,m this is only a wholly nonscientific observation, and it likely has a lot of implicit bias (I'm a minarchist transhumanist loon), but every time my "crazy" radar goes off (for women, this normally is "acts immature, childish voice, strong vocal fry, etc" and for men this is "performatively acts feminine/submissive, works to change vocal patterns and speech to be a lower egister (weird combo)") it ends up being someone who's waaaay left.
