A mixed system is what i want like Germany’s

2020-03-03 22:19:35 UTC

The only way I can see USA going single payer is if they did it on a state by state basis

2020-03-03 22:19:56 UTC

and open up hospitals that run only via the single payer system

2020-03-03 22:20:00 UTC

hence are free

2020-03-03 22:20:02 UTC

Yeah, has bernie ever said what he’s basing his system off?

2020-03-03 22:20:04 UTC

(to citizens)

Possibly with the government entering the insurance market

2020-03-03 22:20:20 UTC

Cause if it’s based off the NHS that’s gonna be a dusy

2020-03-03 22:20:30 UTC

yeah you could do that too, setting a price ceiling

2020-03-03 22:20:41 UTC

australia has a pretty good system tbh

2020-03-03 22:20:43 UTC

@Knight Ani Cringewalker KANKOKU-JIN WILL BOW TO THE JAPANESE MASTER RACE

2020-03-03 22:20:46 UTC

He probably hasn't got a clue, Cryo, lefists never think things through

2020-03-03 22:21:04 UTC

The NHS is centralized bullshit

2020-03-03 22:21:31 UTC

we have single payer for each type of service. they pay 5k for your surgery say, in a public hospital it will be free but there'll be a long wait list. you can get it done privately for an additional fee, or have private insurance. they pay the fee no matter who provides the service

2020-03-03 22:21:34 UTC

The NHS suffers all the normal problems that affect very large organisations

2020-03-03 22:21:56 UTC

it's slightly rortabe but in a way you kind of want doctors eager to rort by providing healthcare

2020-03-03 22:21:59 UTC

That's what they were heading towards in the UK in the early 1990s, Vindi, but then Labour got whiff of power and knocked it on the head

2020-03-03 22:22:26 UTC

how does the nhs differ

2020-03-03 22:22:33 UTC

isn't the nhs purely just free stuff

2020-03-03 22:22:52 UTC

free hospital, free GPs, free everything. and a very anemic private sector

2020-03-03 22:22:54 UTC

How does the modern american system work? I don’t really understand it

2020-03-03 22:23:00 UTC

so if you want choice or faster care you just can't?

2020-03-03 22:23:12 UTC

Silly nippon. The k pop w memetic warfare

2020-03-03 22:23:21 UTC

That's one of the issues with single payer in the US as well... however going state-based is the best compromise point. That in mind, the push is fullsized centralization.

2020-03-03 22:23:32 UTC

NHS isn't free

2020-03-03 22:23:56 UTC

You can go private if you want faster care, but you pay for it if you don't have private health insurance

2020-03-03 22:24:03 UTC
2020-03-03 22:24:21 UTC

so how is this different from the AU system

2020-03-03 22:24:28 UTC

Has bernie listed anything like what Britain does with things like sugary foods and drinks?

2020-03-03 22:24:39 UTC

I.e taxing shit to make the population healthy

@Goddess Tyche i can't read dwarf, sorry

2020-03-03 22:24:42 UTC

I fail to understand how korean men, who have mandatory military service, turn out so gay.

2020-03-03 22:24:44 UTC

NHS, most people pay for eyecare, and a significant portion of dental care, and a fixed amount per prescription

2020-03-03 22:24:52 UTC

So others don’t have to pay for other’s health problems

2020-03-03 22:24:54 UTC

Does war make men gay?

2020-03-03 22:24:54 UTC

btw the NHS is crushingly difficult for doctors to work in. it's like torture

2020-03-03 22:25:04 UTC

but GP and hospital care, all diagnostics etc are free, but heavily rationed and slow

2020-03-03 22:25:10 UTC

No doubt
