because we still don't know what to do with it
Never mind by the time we use up all the water we’ll have a few planets to replenish it all
who is against the idea of, idk, using the moon as a toxic waste dump
@Matt-Kill723 we know what to do with nuclear waste: not create it in the first place by using fast breeder reactors
^
we breathe out Co 2 and dead leaves give off CO 2 the Ocean at night Spews out CO 2 and absorbs it in the day
so many things
what about the reactors we already have in service? When those get replaced, the waste has to go somewhere
they don't last forever
If you make a Thoruim reactor your using no uranium but Salt and Water
its cleaner nuclear engergy
engrish stopped working
bleh
I'm talking about the old reactors we already have in service
Hmmm
at some point those will have to get cleaned up
its not the new tech
its outdated compared to what china designed now
we already know what to do with nuclear waste.
most of it can be recylced.
and deblited uranium have many uses already.
Yeah
do you have a source on that
let me find it for you
I don't think stockpiling warheads is smart either
depleted uranuim is so heavy.
thats why it has many uses. but mainly in military as armor and APFSDS "arrows" are made out of depleted uranium
It is in chinese so turn on the subs
I was looking for a source on recycling waste
Oh
my bad
I had already heard of fast breeder reactors
okay
nah it's cool, I didn't specify
Im typing so much the guys in my discord are asking can the Novel im writing be gluten Free. . "mr Smiley " Lazy general : mr smiley i cant see you reading a book i can see you eating the book
recycling works same way as making "new" uranium.
its only those heviest uranium particles that are most dangerous and that are used in nuclear reactors.
so from my understanding, the fuel rods go bad because there's not enough uranium left to sustain the reaction, but they're still radioactive
yes.
Thats basically it
seems to me like a shitty design if they only last a few years but I'm not an expert. Probably not too smart to put too much in or it will go critical
and they can be "recycled"
take those still actice and usable heavy uranium to new rods. and debleted uranium have other uses.
I'd rather invest more money into fusion tbh
