How can a party completely stand for the very polar opposite of what it historically is viewed as standing for? it sounds more like the liberals as a collective never actually stood for their stated belief but simply stated they did hypocritically, which would be easier to do a 180 on stated beliefs that you don't hold then to change what you stand for that easily

If you look at how Democrats have voted in congress, they all voted for Obamacare, and they all voted against Kavanaugh with few exceptions. Nothing they do is moderate, everything is in concert.
