Ok
Like the original ace combat from the 90s was cool
Man, I'm so glad I installed Arch
not using it, but installed it
because it helped me get a better understanding of partitioning with fdisk
and other things
I'm a huge fan of 90s platformers
SNES mostly
The original playstation had good games
One thing that surprised me to learn is that Ludwig Wittgenstein was related to Friedrich Hayek.
Also how much did Mosley influence Germany wasn't his philosophy the core @Undead Mockingbird
Tbh guys games are so much better these days
They were cousins. I had no clue until I read about it a few yeasr back.
Dont be on about back then
Let's talk about today
@Cody not EA games
hmm ...
wait, hold ont
I like reading the source code of some of them.
I've not delved into old games' source code
might be a cool experience
@Undead Mockingbird hitler and Mosley where cousins?
Sounds boring af
Yes, it is. It's like learning years later how all your favorite games worked on the inside, years later.
It's kind of like digging up a loved on from the graveyard and performing an autopsy.
KInd of.
Why delve into codes, you could actually play a game instead
Just better, of course.
Because it's interesting
It's amazing to see how it all worked in the background.
TO understand BSP, binary partitioning of space, how to build an engine, to tinker with it, etc.
Yeah, I guess it probably looked better than them 4 bit graphics too
It's interesting how all the basics pretty much still apply to modern engines.
The approach to engine design, collision detection, etc. hasn't change that drastically.
And, of course, you can do hilarious stuff, like mess with the AI or physics.
Sounds boring
Play the game instead
