Different kinds of greed.
is that fo serial?
wow 9%
that's kind of harsh.
Is it just sales tax, and people are crying about Steam/Valve no longer aiding them in their tax avoidance?
It's an additional federal tax on M rated games.
Dont you already have sale tax in the us
Yes.
Also on subscriptions
Its an Amusement Tax
Geeez.
then this is just a BS piece of trash
Yes.
Literally taxing amusement
Just throw away PS and move out of Chicago, problem ? 😄
So $60 for PS Plus will be $65.4 now?
I saw someone saying that sales tax hadn't been applied on Steam since the sales were made "out of state" or some such, and so this shit would just be... sales tax. But I might be conflating two different issues.
Ooh does this include Microsoft Office as well?
And I can't watch videos at the moment.
It sounds and looks like exactly the same thing i had on electricity where i live, which was declared illegal afterwards as the country here cannot tax the same thing twice under different names.
The right of the individual to pursue happiness is one of the cornerstones of the United States Constitution.
I would therefore argue that putting a tax on amusement is unconstitutional.
i was thinking about that as well^
It's a higher percentage than the initial cogitate tax.
Excise taxes are how this country got afloat man.
@Swedishmafia101 Judging by how much wee kiddos rage in online games, it would be a simple matter to say that games are not conducive to said pursuit. 😉
Look up the Whisky Rebellion.
lol
Video games are scientifically proven to be able to help people suffering from depression or trauma
Perhaps that could be argued. Regardless, the constitution doesn't rule out taxation of things that may lead to happiness.
yesn't in't
@Khanclansith Excise taxes are being applied to utilities where i live
not just superfluous items
Can someone send me that video link in private so that I can remember to watch it later? 😛
and u gonna be seeing that happen as well
if not already
Then @tritrium it is not an excise tax. Unless your government considers using the utillities a sin!
I'm Swedish and it feels like I know the Constitution better than the fuckers who make your laws
They do khan
and it is an excise tax
