Sickle cell disease is racist
Sickle cell is a protection against malaria which is a tropical disease
But, aggression alone is not the whole story.
Government programs are almost universally harmful.
It has a higher predictive value than race.
If white people had been targeted with welfare spending, the roles would have likely been reversed.
When I grew up, I realized one thing:
The ones who pretend to do most good often do most harm, and those who often care least about your feelings want your best.
:(
White people were targeted for welfare spending. You think Johnson's Great Society was out of Johnson's love of black people? No. The Great Society helped black people only as a fringe benefit to helping poor whites.
I am talking about proportions.
There is no doubt about the proportion of welfare recipients.
Yes, blacks are disproportionately on welfare systems but whites get by far the most absolute spending.
Why are we talking about absolute numbers then?
If we have 100 people from group A and 200 people from group B, and each group consumes the same, one consumes at twice the rate than the other.
Because you said welfare was "targeted to blacks" and I wanted it clear that, no, it benefits far more whites than blacks. Again, Johnson had whites in mind when these programs were created.
For the purpose of the relative effect, I am interested in proprtionality.
I am not making an argument which group, in absolute numbers, exerts a greater weight on the system.
Okay, thank you for establishing the baseline for discussion. I'm listening intently 😃
If there were 10 people who ate as much as 100, despite both groups consuming the same, in absolute numbers, I would be worried about the 10.
Yes, blacks have been hurt by minimum wages also the most
I still don't buy how a minimum wage is bad as long as it is indexed to the poverty line and an ability to actually live on such an income
This chart is funny
Would you pay someone 25€/h for cleaning your toilett?
Every job has a value, if you have to pay more than that, it might be gotten rid of
It shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to clean a toilet
No, but I would pay someone $10/hr which is more or less the minimum where I live
push is to 15/h
here in Germany its like 6,5€
An outrageous minimum is one thing, but one that is calibrated to provide a basic survival wage is another
$15/hr makes no sense in some areas and some sense in others
Anyone else sometimes remeber the situation with candid and how the entire skeptic community was cucked?
Like basically everyone shilled for it and sold out
Nope
Having a low federal minimum and then let the states do higher if they want seems to work pretty well
Minimum wage laws are always bad. The purpose of the market is to signal supply and demand.
Most people fail to define or refuse to define what "survival" or "living" is in relation to a minimal wage
Minimum wage laws protects against abuse
If the wage does not reflect the market value of your labor, you are deluding the market.
