Oh, i agree with you 100%
glühwein is starting to grow on me
pretty good stuff
Igitt.
damn, you make me want to play zelda 2
there are only 2 zelda games i've never beat
1 because it was way too fucking hard for me to finish when i played it
and 2 because i hated it
youtube pissing me off actually
more and more they recommend videos from MSM
if i wanted msm, i'd watch msm.
lol
1 was glorious. 2... 2 was the kind of game that eventually led to the epic that was SOTN.
not that that makes 2 good in like... most ways.
but it's like a kid learning to walk... he's going to fall on his ugly face and break it a few times before he figures it out.
I actually like 2
It wasn't that bad, the mechanics work well. Just wasn't like the first one
Majora's Mask is my favourite though
And Link's adventure is my favourite 2D one
Though Link to the past was pretty good too
it had its ups and downs. Any platforming section in it was a down. The leveling system it used was a down. Certain enemies and the way they fought were a major down, particularly the final boss and especially the way attacks had no leadup or signs, all things that eventually were cleaned up in later games.
Maybe it's nostalgia getting the better of me. I had both the Zelda games on a bootleg NES
It did have some crazy good ups too though. The downswing/upswing moves were so epic that Smash Bros took those as key moves for Link.
to imagine such a simple move in Zelda2 was such a clever thing and worked so well
They should make a Zelda 2 style Zelda game again. Might make it good this time
At least better than the Philips games
I liked the first gameboy zelda game.
link's awakening
A Link Between Worlds is the best top-down zelda game.
I thought it was quite clever that they recognized the limitations of a set button for sword only and allowed you to swap in any weapons you wanted.
I actually liked the phillips games
call me crazy
took some getting used to, but once i did, i liked it
It was an amazing game when you had freaking BOMB ARROWS by... Using Bomb, And Arrow, at the same time.
if more stuff like that kept happening in future zelda games, it would've really just run away as the franchise that absolutely no one could live without. Not that it isn't big as is, but it's kinda a niche of its own.
Botw seems to have really divided people
Has it?
I respect BotW for doing something different on many levels, but I also have lessened respect for it because they were obviously trying to copy the whole open world notion of everything, and the constant weapon breakage seems to have been poorly playtested.
BotW could've used more enemy variety, and the weapon degradation was a little extreme, but you have to admit it's an amazing game.
