Most studies will use teenagers, because the difference there is less.

If you take a look, every study that purports to show equal averages will use a sample base of high school students.
Grade school
That is
Girls go through puberty sooner than boys, so there is a brief time when they perform equally.
Then, boys overtake girls.
An earlier onset of puberty is also negatively correlated with IQ.
So age of consent for girls 12 and for boys 14? ;P (12 is the AOC in the US federally btw)
This is especially worrisome because girls tend to undergo puberty earlier in families absent of fathers.
