If she - or HE - is truly coerced, then the person doing the coercion is culpable.

2018-11-25 13:05:11 UTC

codes, that question misses the point entirely

2018-11-25 13:05:26 UTC

they have the options, they should use them

2018-11-25 13:05:30 UTC

If she runs back to him for the third time, then it's like a drowning victim that keeps jumping back into the pool.

What do you want me to say?

2018-11-25 13:05:34 UTC

not at all, it displays the problem with his thinking

2018-11-25 13:05:36 UTC

your response should be what if they don't know about those options

2018-11-25 13:06:03 UTC

It's precisely those situations that we make most excuses. We have all kinds of expressions like "emotional abuse" and go to the point of allowing women to MURDER their husbands in their sleep.

2018-11-25 13:06:17 UTC

Women have all the social and legal protections they need - and then some.

2018-11-25 13:06:28 UTC

and they shouldnt?

2018-11-25 13:06:35 UTC

Stop making excuses for women - or any adults - who had a choice in the matter.

2018-11-25 13:06:44 UTC

or maybe should those same protections apply to men too

2018-11-25 13:06:49 UTC

If they chose it, hold them accountable.

2018-11-25 13:07:01 UTC

in what way undead?

2018-11-25 13:07:07 UTC

cause see, my belief is the former, but in reality it is not that way

2018-11-25 13:07:12 UTC

If someone is stupid enough to jump into a lake without being able to swim, you can drag them out, but don't pretend like they didn't have a choice in the matter.

2018-11-25 13:07:32 UTC

@Undead Mockingbird held accountable legally?

2018-11-25 13:07:50 UTC

See, grenade, your starting to see the problem with his thinking

2018-11-25 13:08:03 UTC

Not everyone can think RATIONALLY over things like this

2018-11-25 13:08:07 UTC

Wait, being held accountable is a problem?

2018-11-25 13:08:13 UTC

That is the problem for my thinking?

2018-11-25 13:08:17 UTC

no

2018-11-25 13:08:22 UTC

its the how that is in question

2018-11-25 13:08:35 UTC

When a man has a child, we hold him accountable for providing for it in most instances, to the point of incarceration - at least in the US.

2018-11-25 13:08:37 UTC

should you jail them for choosing it? let the abuser go?

2018-11-25 13:08:51 UTC

or social accountability

2018-11-25 13:08:59 UTC

something that is cultural, not legal

2018-11-25 13:09:05 UTC

codes seems to assume legal

2018-11-25 13:09:16 UTC

When a woman keeps going back to a man or refuses to leave the relationship, I do not want to be held accountable through my taxes financing the stupidity of single moms.

2018-11-25 13:09:25 UTC

ah

2018-11-25 13:09:55 UTC

I do not care what choices people make with their lives. When they are stupid, I might help them out the first time. But eventually, they have to be responsible adults.

2018-11-25 13:10:04 UTC

but what about a dead beat who gets up an leaves? or someone who turns abusive and the person then leaves soon after that change

2018-11-25 13:10:18 UTC

What we have now is a victimhood industry that is being financed to the tune of $4 billion. That is what I want women held responsible for.

2018-11-25 13:10:22 UTC

i mean, personally i think society and not the government should be the person to help them

2018-11-25 13:10:22 UTC

and how would they be held responsible?

2018-11-25 13:10:28 UTC

If men and women are equal, adults, why the imbalance?

2018-11-25 13:10:43 UTC

Not being paid money for having useless little whelps.

2018-11-25 13:10:58 UTC

In what ways people must be held responsible is not always immediately clear. I cannot answer that question across the board.

2018-11-25 13:11:13 UTC

"but what about a dead beat who gets up an leaves? or someone who turns abusive and the person then leaves soon after that change"

2018-11-25 13:11:18 UTC

Grenade your kami

2018-11-25 13:12:00 UTC

As it is, men shoulder the choices of women. More broadly, we as a society shoulder the bad decisions of other people, which is why I am such a thorough libertarian. To some degree, I am willing to bear that burden, in exchange for others helping me out with my mess ups.

2018-11-25 13:12:45 UTC

That has literally been my argument this whole time
