If the Oregon standoff was any lesson to learn, the Federal Government does not do compromise or deals.
If he’s going to fight, he may as well start shooting. Longterm, they can deplete him dry of any provision or service as they deem fit.
Unless he has ample supplies, independent power, heating, air conditioning, all that good self reliance stuff, then he can play the waiting game. If not, he’s simply delaying an inevitable outcome.
I love the constitution, bill of rights and share a good portion of the original vision of the founders, of what they dreamed America to be, but here and now; the Federals hold unrivaled monopoly on power.
States have been reduced to that of mere subjected provinces, we can do nothing beyond comply or launch revolution.

An armed standoff with police does not end well. Unless you’re intent on seeking revolution, and even then—considering the fact the states are more or less federal subjects, who’ll call upon military assistance if they themselves cannot put down a local revolution—his success may as well be, minimal. As far as I know, he has no political allies in office, no lobbyists in his favor, and hardly any Congressional sympathy, he’s as forementioned, delaying an inevitable result.
