I am all for mandatory service, but the US is FARRRRRRRRRRR too big.

We have WAY too many people for it to be feasible.

That's the thing, with the draft and mandatory service, like in all countries, they force you to get in shape.

They make it work. Especially only being 2 years.

They don't care if you are 350lb

Mental health is a DQ. Medical history of surgeries or injuries is a DQ.

Israel (only for those who are Genetically Jewish by DNA) is one.

Sweden is one

Mental health is already a huge one that DQ a lot of people

Finland is another.

Notice, all these countries have really small populations.

Only for males, and they have a population of 50m, only 1/6 the population of the US.

Most mandatory service nations, is for males only.

Like Finland aswell.

I’d say still make it mandatory.

They took away pension so they have the money now. People our age have absolutely no fucking life skills and literally don’t know how to fucking do anything because they wanna live in the city so they get fast food and shit

That would mean 30 million people (the eligible number who are considered healthy and fit to join , between 18 and 35) would immediately be put into service.

Have it be once you’re 21 you must serve the 2 years.

Since it’s a new law, if you’re past 21 you don’t count.

It’ll be a whole new thing starting easy.

Don’t make people who are 35 serve the 2years

How would we divide then among branches, like it would be quite a disparity to send some to the Coast guard, then some to the Marines, how do we decide who goes where?

“Starting in 2021 January 1st every one that turns 21 must serve in the armed forces for 2 years, unless DQ for medical reasons, etc etc”

I don’t know exactly how but they know what needs filling and they fill it

But the regular draft is only a tiny portion, not everyone, they only use the draft to keep numbers during war, not to increase numbers most of the time.

Not all of age males get called during the draft.

Only those selected.

Literally the exact the same thing though...you fill what needs to be filled.

Or they choose the branch for you, you take the asvab and they give you the job you qualify for
