Currency is handier, because it doesn't need to be a large physical object, it's easily made and regulated aswell

And not everyone can produce it

no it means its impossible to circulate

Vacuum sealing, canning, drying, smoking, salting?

There are plenty of ways to make it last long enough to get to the belly that needs it in exchange for whatever

Canning can last up to 20 years, so that makes a point.

Well.....

Actually, thats how we use to do it.

With our modern streamlined, convienence over quality format now, they will last 6 years when stored right.

Air-sealed dried foods can last 30 years.

And that's your best bet.

Jerked meat can last about 1 year.

So any kind of jerky.

And you can jerky any meat.

Currency will be based on what people want

There could be a vendor selling items and only accepts billets as currency. There could be a vendor selling clothes for food

If a serious situation happened currency would be what ever the seller wants

But I’m sayin there will not be a currency

All civilizations started with that.

Then moved on to currency.

If the world genuinely perishes we will not have a currency

currency is just a guarantor of a product everyone wants

So, we would rebuild towns, and villages, elect leaders, and install monarchs, and start over again, but we will completely lose the ability to use currency.

trade in ur bullet bills to the bullet farm and get ur bullets
trade in ur food stamps to the food farm and get ur food

All currency needs to exist is a regulating authority, and for the citizens or subjects to recognize its value.

If the world GENUINELY PERISHES, people won’t rebuild together. It will be all fucked up. The walking dead is a good example. 3 towns knew eachother and that’s it. The rest were hostile and used things differently. Currency won’t be recognized in anyway at all outside of that tiny group of people.

In the game fallout some how they decided caps was the way to go. Being it’s a game that’s easily put in, but in reality that wouldn’t of happened.

You can't use fantasy TV shows and movies, when I am talking about actual historical fact, 95% of the human population died in the ice age, they used recognized currency in communities before it, and developed it again after.

Their currency was very different from others.

Others did not accept that currency.
