I'm a expat, but I'm against erasing history period

I'm sure it's because he did some questionable things in the past which may or may not have been considered okay at the time. By these standards, most statues of people long-dead should be removed because standards changed so much and people do shitty things

But it doesn't erase the good they've done

or at least it shouldn't

For example, Sir John A. MacDonald did enough good for the country that he was knighted for it. Despite this good, he still had a lot to do with the formation of residential schools. For this reason, a statue of him was taken down in BC a few months ago.

He did zero questionable things that we have record of... however he did put a bounty out for Mi'kmaq scalps bc they were slaughtering settlers... this side of history is not told... ZERO scalps were brought in under Cornwallis... It was until 100 years later when the French started meddling in and used the Mi'kmaq as basically soldiers, the Dartmouth Massacre happened and that is when the 1 and ONLY scalp was ever brought in by the english (in Halifax/Dartmouth)...
