Not the whole nation.

2018-12-04 04:31:09 UTC

Then you should probably stop letting people vote for stuff. Otherwise, the majority will continue to rule.

2018-12-04 04:31:14 UTC

Yeah but the founding fathers did see the need to reform the system and be able to amend the constitution through a super majority

2018-12-04 04:31:15 UTC

Set up an elite oligarchy.

2018-12-04 04:31:38 UTC

That was because it was suppose to be hard to even get a majority vote.

2018-12-04 04:31:52 UTC

Because they were diverse ideas and opinions.

2018-12-04 04:31:52 UTC

This is why things like the electoral college exist.

2018-12-04 04:32:11 UTC

So, people cooperating is breaking American government. Yep, this country's bound to last a thousand years.

2018-12-04 04:32:23 UTC

Now we are seeing this fucking destruction of diverse opinions an ideas is leading to a single ideology rulling.

2018-12-04 04:32:34 UTC

All thanks to the left.

2018-12-04 04:33:04 UTC

I'd say it's more thanks to the internet

2018-12-04 04:33:11 UTC

The foundering fathers thought that because we are so diverse, we wouldn't be able to come together to alter the constitution on whim, making it harder for it to be changed unless it must absolutely be changed.

2018-12-04 04:33:17 UTC

an elite oligarchy would go against the basic principles of the people being ruled by someone who they don't believe in

2018-12-04 04:34:00 UTC

And then we banned booze.

2018-12-04 04:34:13 UTC

No... the federal government banned booze.

2018-12-04 04:34:17 UTC

Unchecked power.

2018-12-04 04:34:20 UTC

Wasn't that because all the men were at war and weren't able to vote?

2018-12-04 04:34:32 UTC

The citizens really didn't vote that in.

2018-12-04 04:34:34 UTC

Which isn't a problem if you don't believe that the legitimacy of a government depends on the will of the governed.

2018-12-04 04:34:40 UTC

The citizens actually revolted and created a underground trade for booze.

2018-12-04 04:34:52 UTC

The government even attempted to posion booze to deter people.

2018-12-04 04:35:02 UTC

How basic is this principle of reverence for the Founding Fathers?

2018-12-04 04:35:16 UTC

Yeah, prohibition era was pretty lit

2018-12-04 04:35:17 UTC

Depends on the person.

2018-12-04 04:35:26 UTC

People died from making wine from concrete

2018-12-04 04:35:35 UTC

Fun times

2018-12-04 04:35:40 UTC

Concrete, what the fuck

2018-12-04 04:36:00 UTC

Honestly I think every American should read "Common Sense" to understand why the country was formed the way it was.

2018-12-04 04:36:09 UTC

There was a form of concrete or plaster that had used fermented grape juice (shitty wine) as one of the ingredients

2018-12-04 04:36:13 UTC

It used to be mandatory in schools.

2018-12-04 04:36:26 UTC

I was thinking more on the "2 Treaties of Government"

2018-12-04 04:36:27 UTC

@Schedrevka go see the newsroom for what is taught nowadays.

2018-12-04 04:36:58 UTC

Like really that's one of if not THE most important document for understanding the US. It's what brought the idea of revolution from a fringe crazy idea to a reality.

2018-12-04 04:37:04 UTC

Would gun tutorial classes at schools reduce school shootings

2018-12-04 04:37:05 UTC

It also used to be required reading to read *The Federalist Papers* and students would have to memorize the US Constitution.

2018-12-04 04:37:15 UTC

And Declaration of independence.

2018-12-04 04:37:31 UTC

People don't realize how badly lobotimized education has been via the left.

2018-12-04 04:37:49 UTC

pratel, I heard of "Common Sense" from my parents. The book was only mentioned twice in two classes, 7th grade and 12th grade

2018-12-04 04:37:49 UTC

So, Dusty, how was the amendment to ban booze illegal, or not followed by republican principles?

2018-12-04 04:38:07 UTC

@AHeroQuest Exactly. This stuff used to be required reading.

2018-12-04 04:38:08 UTC

Because United States contains some form of democracy in small instance, doesn't mean it is a Democracy. Because United States contained some form of monarch, doesn't make it a monarch, and because United States contains some form of whatever the house is doesn't make it that either. That is why we have three chambers of governance. House, Senate, and White House.
