Not what will happen
I say in all honesty... we have limited free will.
this is not a conversation i can have wiht 5 people trying to have their own conversation
@Dusty Morgan.yes
If someone punches you in the face it's inevitable you're going to be sore and maybe bleed and swell, that's inevitable cause and effect
But then by your choice, you can either retaliate and punch back, or you can leave. That is by your will. Although you're influenced to get angry as a natural reaction to hostile pain, you still have a choice
^
holy fuck
This conversation is dumb. Everyone has different levels of understanding of the different concepts being discussed and is making it so no one understands each other.
how old is everyone here
we got them limbic systems
We have the free will to choose our path in life, but our actions or responses to things that happen along that path is predetermine by our logic, emotions, and biological factors.
how old is everyone
be honest

god damn i'm so annoyed

Go.away then
Hey kids, there's nothing 'swag' or 'yolo' about cyber bullying!
I'm of the "you can choose your actions but not the consequences" school of thought on free will
I'm "I don't think it exists, but I don't fucking know, and don't think it's very worth while to bother thinking about"
Okay Jes. Can you say the information, the previous actions, or even interactions didn't affected your decision to perform that action?
The only reason you choose actions is because you expect certain consequences, if it is impossible to predict the consequences to *any* degree of certainty, then you won't choose to act.
What do you base that on?
this is why free will debates are stupid because there's no way to prove it, because if it's determined that you'd argue about it, then it's determined you believe you have free will and the determined results of you embracing free will is the determined prosperity of growing your diligence and discipline and thus increasing the heights you can reach and achieving those heights.
But if there is free will, then it's the same fucking result
It's a philosopher's jack off conversation
@Dusty Morgan I felt like wieghing in with my opinion. you just described motivations not causations
Math is stupid because you can't prove logic.
Motivations effect your choices man.
yes
