i imagine as long as you are in air the temperature change wont be nearly as rapid

I am talking about creating an new shuttle like craft, that designed with these metamaterials to make it lighter, stronger, and better at withstanding extreme temperature. Also the metamaterials could improve on NASA's fleets onboard computers, making it much safer for astronauts and putting us far beyond any other nation in terms of space travel.
Make it so the shuttle could leave Earth's orbit and reach the Moon, giving us a better chance of establishing a foothold outside our planet.
if we start building with crazy meta materials the smallest impact on humanity will probably be advanced in rocket technology lol
