well, you have a point there @Heteronymus Bosch
I am not even going to attempt to solve the issues of oppression in the UK and EU
my interest is limited to enforcing the first amendment in the US
I know that you have small local banks in the US. I won't give away where I have lived, but I assure you they simply don't exist in *most* countries. And they are subject to state intervention without court approval.
I personally am of the belief, at this point that the Russian Federation is a better friend than the European Union.
the EU is tiny, just walk it.
Possibly even in the US after the patriot act.
Any payment processing institution, any institution where currency can be exchanged for another, is extremely risk averse. They will not deal with entities that they have been convinced are radical.
To the US
Read the ToS of any payment processor. Not just the big ones but the tiny ones who only work with one small bank. They all have endless rules about content.
Also, for it to be used effectively, the masses have to adopt it
And the masses listen to the established order
has anyone else here ever actually implement a payment processing system or dealt with financial institutions?
Yes
ok
why not ach
wow yt rewind has 2.1m dislikes 😛
You would not believe the rules they have. Things that have absolutely nothing to do with moving money.
then get another bank
So what are the ideological criteria for an ACH originator then?
none
that's the point
banks provide this as a service to their clients
under contract
so sign the contract you want to sign
I think Atkins just claimed that there are.
there are thousands of banks
In the US.
pick one that works
yes, in the US
Not elsewhere.
the UK and EU are a lost cause
I wonder if Tim is subscribed to pewdiepie
How will Sargon sign a contract with a US bank?
you guys are probably guilty of felonies for supporting sargon anyway, without concern for how
Another thing you haven't considered is international payments. If you can accept payments from someone in another country, you are also held subject to that country's laws by your domestic payment provider. They don't want to deal with the risk of international legal problems.
file a corporation, the corp signs the contract
You think this is more practical than simply using a private cryptocurrency?
You can claim you are not subject to, for example, EU laws, but your payment provider will dump you if you aren't.
I am not solving the EU problem
And again, you can't go pure crypto because you have to interface with the real world economy to pay your bills.
I know lots of people who are contrarian love to shit on crypto, but there are solutions which are much better than the one you are proposing.
