Question for my bois: can you recommend a particular AR brand? I've been without an AR since I left NY and I'd like to rock a 20" clone of an M16. Two of the contenders I have is an Aero Precision and Windham Weaponry. I'd prefer to not buy something made of chinesium for $300 and a blowie behind a gunshow, but I also am not looking to drop needless thousands of dollars if there isn't a good trade for quality/reliability. Do you think these could be run hard and stand up to hypothetical SHTF field abuse? I'm expecting a price range around $1.3k for just the rifle and no optics, is this reasonable? I'm reading reviews but I'd love to hear personal experiences/thoughts.
