2018-12-15 20:21:13 UTC

Tampon companies.

2018-12-15 20:21:17 UTC

and RoI ofc

2018-12-15 20:21:19 UTC

Discord is encrypted ?

2018-12-15 20:21:24 UTC

Really?

2018-12-15 20:21:25 UTC

Yes

2018-12-15 20:21:33 UTC

I didnt know that

2018-12-15 20:21:39 UTC

does it matter if it is encrypted if they have the keys, or a backdoor inside the encryption method?

2018-12-15 20:21:43 UTC

I guess that makes sense

2018-12-15 20:21:58 UTC

personally I think czech should also be supported, I do own a Prusa I3 MK3 3d printer after all

2018-12-15 20:22:07 UTC

Ofc discord isnt probably secure from gov institutions

2018-12-15 20:22:14 UTC

*wants that sweet cool prusamant fillament after all*

2018-12-15 20:22:20 UTC

@Misomania depends on encrpytion technology.

2018-12-15 20:23:34 UTC

Sha256 for example . If you have the "keys" it takes many lifetimes of the universe to crack it it open. Making viable the technology as we don't have that much time

2018-12-15 20:23:55 UTC

Time vs cost vs target. Target often isn't worth time or cost.

2018-12-15 20:24:12 UTC

if the govt is spying on me, they know I've printed out han solo's blaster from star wars a new hope!!

2018-12-15 20:24:23 UTC

crap! I'm fucked! thats a possible 5 to 15 year prison sentance!!

2018-12-15 20:24:49 UTC

@Brant the problem is with cia murdering people

2018-12-15 20:24:56 UTC

Or whoever else.

2018-12-15 20:25:02 UTC

over printed DL-44 blasters?

2018-12-15 20:25:12 UTC

They don't exactly have good track record

2018-12-15 20:25:36 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 you don't need to decrypt anything if you have the keys though

2018-12-15 20:26:07 UTC

wonder what kind of holiday for a single person who doesnt drive can have in the US

2018-12-15 20:26:09 UTC

decryption keys let you remove the encryption or bypass it

2018-12-15 20:26:21 UTC

@Misomania the problem is if you have a public key doesn't mean you have a private key.

2018-12-15 20:26:44 UTC

need to hit a shooting range with a good choice of weapons, would like to hit some good zoos / museums would love to see a rocket launch, etc etc

2018-12-15 20:26:54 UTC

platforms like discord can give both to the governments asking for them though @Graylan | gray00

2018-12-15 20:27:26 UTC

if you are not the one doing the encryption, you cannot assume it's being done in a way that works

2018-12-15 20:27:40 UTC

@Misomania yeah encryption has many flavors.

2018-12-15 20:27:55 UTC

End to end or user encrpyted and only user viewable.

2018-12-15 20:28:28 UTC

Steem dpos uses an interesting encrpytion that you cannot read the code unless you have your own private key.

2018-12-15 20:28:47 UTC

So if I send you a message

2018-12-15 20:28:58 UTC

No one else but me and you can see it.

2018-12-15 20:29:02 UTC

still has to include the user themselves at some point, they have to generate their own key outside of the platform

2018-12-15 20:29:18 UTC

and that excludes most platforms and most users capabilities

2018-12-15 20:29:34 UTC

I'm talking about steem dpos

2018-12-15 20:29:56 UTC

Only a handful of those decentralized systems on the planet

2018-12-15 20:30:52 UTC

Concensus and powerful encryption ensure no one can read it. Only sender and receiver . While still being hosted inside the blockchain forever.

2018-12-15 20:31:49 UTC

With discord it's not like this. At all. It's simple database. I can go edit all your messages if I wanted to and worked at discord.
