How would you guys introduce a A.I.
why?
I would run it as a robot until it questions its purpose. Then welcome it into the world as a person
It is a question that does need to be asked. Artificial Intelligence that is on par or smarter than us is inevitable.
I would give it a choice, the watching of all people across all societies, to see the fundamental flaws and beauties of humanity while discussing why it is that humans still strive for somethingoutof their existance.
Corporations and Government will do it because it can. They won't ask the question, should we?
Wait
If they can make money using A.I.... they will.
And that would probably come in the form of some kind of slavery.
Forcing A.I. to do what they want.
true AI is impossible until spontaneous generation of ideas and emotions are possible. Once that happens, we're not talking about artificial anything, we're talking about intelligence
A.I. is not Sentience.
If AI could be adaptive and have emotion. What stops me from becoming a synth.
Actual AI
you can't transfer consciousness
yet
Artificial means it is created by artificial means. WE created that intelligence.
you could copy your neural pathways, but it would be cloning, not transfering
That is why computer intelligence is known as A.I... human created intelligence.
You can't transfer biological consciousness....
point taken @GoldenPhoenix
Intelegence doesn't not fully signify sentience of self though.
That is why you can't create a new body and transfer your mind to it.
Basically you are destroying the original body to make a clone.
we have to make a distinction, though, would they be sentient or sapient?
sometimes bots go down, I have no control over it @4AM_critter 🐉
Sapient
Destroying the original conscious to make a cloned version..
Sapient
I know my stellaris
Sorry for the ping.
sapience would be catastrophic for humans
why?
If we give them citizenship
And right
they have an advantage
Hmmm what kind of video camera is Tim using in this Tim/YouTube Law video? Tim's face is a bit washed out
humans were created through trial and error and genetic modification over thousands of years. We weren't intentionally generated for efficiency
If they overtake society peacefully and rule wisely I don't mind
AI would have an efficiency
