Meet at McDonald's inside or something
I, unfortunately, see society hinged on issues of corporate vs. individual.
Why do you see things that way?
Because if that is the fundamental struggle, I think the corporate entities are going to win. Simple numbers game.
So much of our daily lives in meatspace depends on the internet
There are other outcomes I see, Bookworm.
The Internet is largely controlled by three core companies. Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.
Elon musk has an interesting view on corporations . They are just machines that will do whatever it takes to get profit even genocide
He's right.
Ibm provide Hitler tools.
And the fact that we consider 'Corporations' as 'People' is bizzare.
No more like Terminator 2 movie
Change corporations to people
and you are still right
maybe that is why elon likes to keep his companies of the verge of death /s
With the black dude who they went and shot
Lol.
Unstoppable
I don't know that I agree, Countess. Not necessarily.
Capitalism lets people profit at the benefit of the consumer
And government control is supposed to reign in the damage
Supposed to, yes.
But what we're dealing with isn't capitalism, it's corporatism.
Musk references that scene loosely.
I can really see that coming alive today
Well the weird part
People always think regulation hurts these giant corps
Sometimes it does
Regulation can be used to stifle competition
Absolutely.
Regulate an industry so everyone operates at a loss
Walmart can take a few million $$ hit in legal fees each year
But mom and pop grocery get squeezed out by regulations
Healthcare is 5% gdp
That is exactly the case as I see it.
That is more regulated than most things.
And pumped with govt liquid.
Also trains. Amtrak
Yeah there is a graph of improvements over time
