but then you could claim that about STD

2018-12-26 22:01:21 UTC

They were also able to handle forced sexual reassignment better than the Next Generation.

2018-12-26 22:01:30 UTC

This is true.

2018-12-26 22:01:36 UTC

They have done better than the original so far.

2018-12-26 22:01:39 UTC

actually, they had black female wesley in std

2018-12-26 22:01:42 UTC

Refinement of an idea is a good thing.

2018-12-26 22:01:53 UTC

*wonders if its too soon to do binge watching of ds9 ... did that start of the year*

2018-12-26 22:02:05 UTC

They handled that episode surprisingly well actually.

2018-12-26 22:02:14 UTC

Except for that last bit.

2018-12-26 22:02:37 UTC

Having the most inspiration figure in their history be a female was... It felt forced.

2018-12-26 22:02:44 UTC

I liked the fact that they 'lost'.

2018-12-26 22:02:50 UTC

eh, this dislike of mikey spock seems a bit odd. she gest accused of being a mary sue

2018-12-26 22:02:58 UTC

She is a mary sue.

2018-12-26 22:03:01 UTC

how?

2018-12-26 22:03:34 UTC

Arrogant, more science stuff than the science officer, close-quarters combat expert against the klingons.

2018-12-26 22:03:35 UTC

i would watch it but seth mcfarlane has been pissing me off lately. Such as this new metoo'ing of quagmire

2018-12-26 22:03:57 UTC

Is related to one of the franchises most beloved characters.

2018-12-26 22:04:00 UTC

she's portraying a starfleet officer and XO of a starship, they're suppose to be well trained. This isnt like Rey, a nobody scavanger from some sand world that suddenly knows how to fly a starship, use a light saber and has force powers yet no training

2018-12-26 22:04:03 UTC

@Brant she solves everything by how black and female she is

2018-12-26 22:04:16 UTC

@Brant, when did we hear Riker talk about Data's brain?

2018-12-26 22:04:31 UTC

Or hear the Indian one talk about photonic realities?

2018-12-26 22:04:37 UTC

An XO is a command officer, they have to be generalists.

2018-12-26 22:04:38 UTC

spock was an XO right? and science officer

2018-12-26 22:04:55 UTC

He was also one of the few people to hold both posts.

2018-12-26 22:05:05 UTC

He was also a few hundred years old.

2018-12-26 22:05:09 UTC

False.

2018-12-26 22:05:17 UTC

no he wasnt, not during ToS

2018-12-26 22:05:18 UTC

T'Pol... Wait, really?

2018-12-26 22:05:27 UTC

Spock at the time of TOS was only a few decades old.

2018-12-26 22:05:32 UTC

Let me check his age.

2018-12-26 22:05:53 UTC

anyway, so far we havent seen any klingons in STD

2018-12-26 22:05:54 UTC

T'pol was getting towards her first century.\

2018-12-26 22:06:10 UTC

Sorry, I must have been thinking of T'Pol... @Jerod_Trd, she was fully mature in the Fifties.

2018-12-26 22:06:20 UTC

...........

2018-12-26 22:06:24 UTC

She was a military officer in the Fifties!

2018-12-26 22:06:25 UTC

Do not make me slap you.

2018-12-26 22:06:26 UTC

no @Lord Inquisitor H.J. Fleischmann you're thinking of her grandmother

2018-12-26 22:06:39 UTC

She pulled out the dress at the episodes end.

2018-12-26 22:06:43 UTC
2018-12-26 22:06:43 UTC

but the lead of STD never used her experience or training to solve anything, it was all indentity based and her position in the progressive oppression stack just made her better then everyone else

2018-12-26 22:06:48 UTC

she pulled out her grandmothers purse at the end
