anyway, the "I don't touch any kind of claim on religion" method is the agnostic approach, which is perfectly viable in secular education

2019-01-02 19:37:24 UTC

not actually wanting proof but wanting to dismantle an argument

2019-01-02 19:37:43 UTC

depends on intentions really

2019-01-02 19:37:45 UTC

theres many ways .

2019-01-02 19:37:52 UTC

some people want to destroy religion

2019-01-02 19:37:56 UTC

through secularism

2019-01-02 19:38:00 UTC

i can understand why

2019-01-02 19:38:48 UTC

but this is like that conversation of Sam Harris and Jordan Peterson that Religion gave people something that Secularism leaves wanting so if you remove religion with Secularism it will be replaced with something entirely else

2019-01-02 19:38:53 UTC

possible a new religion

2019-01-02 19:39:37 UTC

There's a difference between atheism and mythicism too.

99% of religious types I've met lump the two together...

2019-01-02 19:39:45 UTC

Including myself at one point

2019-01-02 19:39:45 UTC

yeah

2019-01-02 19:39:49 UTC

mythicism? never heard of that

2019-01-02 19:40:03 UTC

mysticism

2019-01-02 19:40:11 UTC

IIRC Styx outed himself as a Satanist

2019-01-02 19:40:18 UTC

Maybe a thing to look at.

2019-01-02 19:40:22 UTC

wanst he former(bleh)

2019-01-02 19:40:25 UTC

wasnt

2019-01-02 19:41:01 UTC

He also explains what it means to be a satanist

2019-01-02 19:41:10 UTC

See, that link mentions up something that needs to be addressed
Atheists like to phrase their stance as "not believing in any gods."
But that's not an accurate characterization.
Atheists actively believe "there are no such thing as gods".

2019-01-02 19:41:13 UTC

like it having nothing to do with satan

2019-01-02 19:41:19 UTC

depends, there's different brands of satanism

2019-01-02 19:41:31 UTC

At least the kind he was talking about

2019-01-02 19:41:40 UTC

the word comes from lost paradise

2019-01-02 19:41:55 UTC

the rebelious nature of it

2019-01-02 19:42:02 UTC

though he has since left it

2019-01-02 19:42:03 UTC

yeah, you have to be careful, because every practitioner of religion has a different view on it

2019-01-02 19:42:05 UTC

@Stefan Payne we had problems with satanists in the 90's and early 2000's . people fucking tell me OH these Satanists in Sweden are nice people and in american they are good hearted people . . . and all i fucking know is the ones in my country crucified 12 year olds upside down and cut them open.

2019-01-02 19:42:43 UTC

That is why I clarified

2019-01-02 19:42:44 UTC

OK, maybe not

2019-01-02 19:43:02 UTC

Satanism started as people trolling the Catholics...then it got out of hand.

2019-01-02 19:43:07 UTC

Yeah

2019-01-02 19:43:13 UTC

They were basically the Rebels

2019-01-02 19:43:27 UTC

thinking worshipping the devil is a way of getting a opposing religion

2019-01-02 19:43:31 UTC

Not to be a pedant (but i will anyways), technically speaking you can't crucify someone upsidedown.

2019-01-02 19:43:35 UTC

yeah, and now some people honestly believe in basically inverse christianity.

2019-01-02 19:43:44 UTC

Most of what they did was to offend the Catholic church.

2019-01-02 19:43:45 UTC

you can.... it happened to peter

2019-01-02 19:43:50 UTC

If not all.

2019-01-02 19:44:06 UTC
