That's been the pattern for our public education, housing, welfare, and infrastructure.
Deregulation is a rarity.
You can even hear Tim talk like that. When people are out of job or out of homes because of some regulations and bureaucracy gone awry, the first impulse always seems to be to call upon the government to take care of things.
Instead, we should take a step back, ask what caused it in the first place and remove the blockage, instead of adding yet another piece of duct tape.

Well, nobody who has a vague grasp on IQ claims that it's some kind of oracle for a person's future.
It's easy to debunk someone if you assign to them a position they never held.
IQ is a metric that we have found to correlate with a wide range of mental tasks. That's it. If that's controversial, you are making more out of it than it is.

Most of it is the mental manipulation of data. All that this means is that your ability to remember and reverse a sequence of numbers is predictive of many other mental tasks.
If you can continue the sequence of a set of symbolic images, such as Raven's Progressive Matrices, then that has been shown to also be predictive of many other mental tasks.
If people get offended by it, it is usually because they perceive that someone is trying to reduce a person down to a number, but that is not the fault of IQ tests, that is the uninformed opinion of those people.
