one thing is bugging me about these layoffs though, are they because they can't afford it, or is this them trying to get ahad of future lawsuits now that can of worms has been opened up? the maga kids aren't the first incident of this
just culling all the people viewed as a liability
stop telling them to learn to code, poor devs will have to carry their ass throughout the development cycle then 😄
that would mean they'd have to drop their narcissistic lifestyle and actually do something useful. they need everything to be about them
btw, why Tim doesnt promote subscribe star, i thought they were back to business
**ThreeOfOne#5966** just left the server.
is subscribe star reliable, or are thy going to have their payment processing pulled again in the future?
no one knows what future brings, but i thought they did pay Tim his money and found a new payment processer
yeah, i was wondering if they're in a stable position to promote then without having to worry about it
if u're a threat to monopoly u can never be in a stable position
theres talks and rumors in ios/android circles about alternative app stores
alt tech is on the rise
fascinating stuff
"the desire for" alt tech is on the rise
FTFY
nah, there are some projects and investments and shit
lots of chinese money
going around
project and investments, does not a stable alternative make :(
let me clarify, stuff like youtube is hard to replace, because they aren't profitable, so theres no incentive for big money funding
i'm sure technically it's on the rise, but it can be argued about how significantly
cuz with a losing business model, you either have to have very dedicated/ambitious people to get the ball rolling
or make it open-source, and open source in my experience rarely creates a good final product
what makes u think that utube isnt profitable
scalability
maintenance costs are gonna be a drain compared to what you can get out of it for free
especially if you're not gonna use peoples data like google does
cuz thats their biggest profit margin in youtube,
Your user data, search information
and profit is a big word in that case, cuz youtube bleeds money
and i'm not slagging off the potential, all i'm saying is that its effectively mountain-climbing
if they are bleeding, is it a self solving problem then?
depends what you mean with the problem
youtubes dominance and thereby their ability to censor
worst case scenario, google decides youtube is no longer worth it, and stop it entirely, forcing people to flood to alt-tech 😄
but it is a false estimate, youtube itself costs more money than they get out of it
but since its a branch of the google tree, google ultimately GAINS money from youtube cuz they can use that data for their other branches
like how soy and apple are both branches of the faggot-tree 😏 👉 👉
I think youtube is perfectly capable to break even with maintenance and development costs and make a profit on top of that. i don't think it's a big profit, certainly not as big as they want. the major problem is that they dont know how to bring this sweet super bowl ad money and how to compete with game of thrones and shit
arent there like public figures we can look at?
they dont disclose utube figures
when tim goes to the dentist, does he gets a timcast cast
if he streams it, is it a timcast cast cast?
afaik google at one point said youtube is bleeding like 4 billion per year or something
