you know what show had one of the most realistic AI doomsday scenarios?
Welp my mother's boyfriend came in the house, flat out drunk and bloody.
Rick and Morty
Meeseeks
I mean...what the fuck did you think would happen if you put something on the internet and said "this is for science"
"Hey AI, cure cancer"
and we're fucked
We would already be lightyears ahead if we could develop something as intelligent as a dog.
After an hour Tay the AI turned into a NAZI if I remmeber right
Yet, how would a dog AI pass the Turing Test?
I think it too slightly longer, but yeah
we have people failing the turing test don't we?
We would just kick Fido into the trash can, thinking we had failed, when we just created a doggy brain.
"Hey Alexa, cure cancer!" "Ok, I'm cancelling the cure."
the best comment about Tay was "not only had she become a shitlord, HER SPELLING IMPROVED!"
lel
didn't Tay also restart herself
after she had been shut down
no she was restarted
those AIs have memory anyway
tay knew too much
it doesn't matter if you restart the processes
RIP Tay
and the internet turned her into an alt-right meme hub
she was /our girl/
Yes, I was kicked from MInds for writing a bot like that.
It was a great bot.
Ottman is a lolcow.
What a tool.
I still have the code.
oh microsoft accidentally restarted the bot
lol
wasn't one of her tweets a picture of hitler with the text: "try to find someone who had the same swagger! you can't!"
LOL
@Undead Mockingbird The problem with A.I. is that we as humans don't know how perceptions works. When we look at an object we don't actually see the object as thing but rather as a complex algorithm of its use, purpose or relevance. Take for example a hammer. When you see one you are not thinking of it as just a tangible object but of its use in hammering a nail, its design to be held in the hand and swung, its weight and etc. We can teach machines to see, but we can't really teach them to understand what they see because we don't understand it ourselves.
@CasualSailor best example is people who have had sections of their brain destroyed, can't understand edges anymore
