Then again, supreme court has been quite based at times

2019-02-09 00:12:58 UTC

The best thing would be to regulate Twitter like a publisher, not a platform.

2019-02-09 00:13:06 UTC

it'd be interesting to watch how big the audience will grow

2019-02-09 00:13:16 UTC

twitter as a publisher would be wonderful

2019-02-09 00:13:28 UTC

see them held accountable to absolutely everything they fail to catch

2019-02-09 00:13:31 UTC

it'd ruin them

2019-02-09 00:14:03 UTC

That's the point. 😏

2019-02-09 00:14:11 UTC

since they ban people from posting that could be considered editing

2019-02-09 00:15:08 UTC

2019-02-09 00:16:08 UTC

Same

2019-02-09 00:16:10 UTC

@Unwound There used to be 5-10k cell phone companies in the U.S. Now there are 3. Why? Gov't regulation. The big boys ask the gov't to require 911 services. Those smaller companies that could not raise the money to provide it or would not be profitable if they did had to sell out to those who could. Then it was text mesg. Then internet access. Then high speed internet access. Until now there are only 3 and soon to be 2. But you can't call it a monopoly because AT&T and Verizon are "competitors." I mean there is literally only 2 channels allowed in a given area. If you were to try to start a cell phone company you'd still have to rent time on one of the big 2's networks.

2019-02-09 00:16:14 UTC

who's Mike Pence?

2019-02-09 00:16:18 UTC

**The Wanderer#0809** just left the server.

2019-02-09 00:16:30 UTC

Duopoly, lmao

2019-02-09 00:17:11 UTC

true, yes. I wish more realize that @CasualSailor

2019-02-09 00:17:22 UTC

@CasualSailor Don't forget that without govt regulation, you would just have people sitting on really localized monopolies, selling access to their infrastructure at a price point that is just where it needs to be that it's more profitable to rent from them, than to make your own

2019-02-09 00:17:23 UTC

wishful thinking is far too prevalent

2019-02-09 00:17:51 UTC

like net neutrality, all of reddit was crying for it.

2019-02-09 00:17:51 UTC

You need some regulation to make the market operate smoothly

2019-02-09 00:18:06 UTC

i hope tim will draw some kinda of a paper to help Joe with his upcoming Dorsey podcast, cause there was A LOT

2019-02-09 00:18:10 UTC

@Mayor has admin here too?

2019-02-09 00:18:21 UTC

unreal

2019-02-09 00:18:26 UTC

@Tinytim No monopoly can exist without government force. If it is profitable to compete then someone will. Only the gov't has the ability to create arbitrary expenses that would prevent competition.

2019-02-09 00:18:33 UTC

the podcast with Dorsey will be entirely scripted. no doubt

2019-02-09 00:18:38 UTC

@Dr.Wol Are you answering a Jeproady question or are you asking about the vice president of the US?

2019-02-09 00:19:10 UTC

Dorsey will probably bring some power to to damage control like PR heads and shit

2019-02-09 00:19:17 UTC
