2 doesn't apply
don't be obtuse
its a completely different use of the word
and same with 3
@CasualSailor no one has the source code for intel ME so it is secret
That's literally the function of cameras, so how does that not apply?
because the cameras would have to be hidden?
if you can see the cameras, you know you're being watched
if you know you're being watched, it's not secret
if it's not secret, it's not spying
No, they wouldn't. YOu seem to not understanding different usages or meaning, 1 is fine, but it's not the only meaning.
No one is saying its the only meaning, but that doesn't mean the word means the same in all contexts
like the word obtuse
because i called you obtuse, doesn't mean i think you're an angle
@Graylan | gray00 Not sure how that is relevant to cameras on posts when you leave your house but I will say as a programmer, I have no problem with DRM. I like being paid for the things I develop and am no fan of people who steal games and other software.
God I hate college based tests
oh, but the definition of obtuse is an angle.
Like I understand most of it but I never have enough time
oh, and, I do agree windows 10 is full of spyware, but so are some linux....
Ahh shiyet
I didn’t even get anything out of getting windows 10, it just meant that I wouldn’t have to have that annoying startup screen that was in windows 8
i'm still using 7 and xp, lol.
@Paradox Sorry. I didn't mean to start that argument. This is why you don't have semantic debates. They hinge upon you denying what the other person tells you they think a word means. If you equate spying with surveillance then there is no argument.
I like that it’s the newer form of the tabs I guess, but I’d rather have security over some cosmetic item
Exactly. And in some cases they do mean the same, in other cases, they do not.
@Paradox Yeah. But even if they don't. If YOU think they are synonymous it is pointless for me to argue that YOU don't.
For the most part I do.
I think the problem with DRM is that once the Right management is broken then you can't use the product you paid for. For example without cracking the game Age of Mythology won't without securerom which has been removed from Windows.
That's the problem with semantic debates. You end up arguing over what everyone believes words mean rather than the actual issue being discussed.
when there is a genuine misunderstanding of meaning, that's fine, but some ppl just don't like words used a way they don't like.
ya know, like saying fags can get married.
tim got so much stuff in that podcast.. theres like 20 videos about tim on JREclips 😛
@Mr. Jesus Well that is part of the contract between buyer and seller. I have to provide a means for you to "validate" your copy if I am no longer going to provide that ability. This is something laws should provide for.
@Timcast Some faggot been talking shit about you on a stream, saying you pay girls to go live with you and getting cucked
They do it for automobile parts. If a car company goes out of business the specs and molds for replacement parts must be made available to the public so others can make the parts.

You do have escrow for bespoke stuff. I do think consumer rights is behind the curve on this.
@Mr. Jesus Probably so. That's probably because you are purchasing a license to "use" the software rather than the actual software. But the principle is the same if you are no longer able to "use" it.
copying isn't stealing, though.
