My life was stuck on repeat before you came into my life,
With my mind full of fog and my thoughts constantly in strife.
The smile on your beautiful lips made my heart skip a beat,
Never a day passes that I yearn for us to finally meet.
There is a future for us that I want to experience firsthand,
Don’t worry I will never force you or make a terrible demand.
You never would have to worry about me ever hurting you,
I just want to give you the happiness that you are due.
We could boo at the patriots and root for the other,
Fix popcorn and throw it at the screen together.
Spend our mornings jogging down the street,
Afterwards we could stop at a store for a bite to eat.
For the holidays we could make memories we can cherish,
Would do anything to make your bad memories perish!
I could write a poem for you on Valentine’s Day,
Then spend the evening letting you have your way.
On Saint Patrick’s Day we could badger each other about wearing green,
Then you could hoist some wine to all the things you have seen.
When July 4th comes, we could watch the fireworks by the lake,
We could eat all the food together till we get a belly ache.
Maybe on thanksgiving we will be frantic about cooking the meals,
Because around the corner Christmas would be nipping at its heels.
And finally our year close to an end with a ball in a sky before the New Year,
Both of us holding wine in our hands, sharing a kiss that is sincere!
I want to strive to make you smile although I am corny,
To create new memories and happiness that isn’t thorny.
This is the future I hope we get the chance to experience for the better,
Through all struggles to finally create our own love and happiness together.
Maybe all this starts when you accept this simple request of mines,
