It takes time to start picking up the notes and stuff but I totally get it why you feel that way if you have only been drinking the cheapest stuff that has the most %. Like you would when you just want to get hammered.

I've only really tried Jameson, single malt scotch, some Suntory, Gekkeikan plum wine, multiple vodkas, Petron, and random beers. @Yarb

plus it probably doesn't help that I think I'm allergic to alcohol because every time I even sip it I get migraines not too long after. I don't get tipsy, just the headaches

I am allergic to Tannin and get the exact same response if I drink wines so it might not the the alcohol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tannin where as ethanol allergy typically shows it self as rash, nausea and in extreme cases anaphylactic shock you can test your theory by taking little bit of vinegar with water in a dose of about 50/50.
